Re: [News] Prusa i3 MK2 release!

I avoid the Chinese clones....I really try not to be lured into their low priced copies I see Chip has been very very busy doing a lot of work with them I'd love to try out a Prusa...but I really want an Ultimaker 2+....but I sense we are close to a new version at some point! Yep, has been a lot of...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

This might be a dumb question, so I'll apologize in advance.... I've been trying to compile the Marlin code for my Hictop Prusa I3 (acrylic frame version), using Chip Luck's configuration files and the latest Arduino IDE. I'm getting lots of error messages from SanityCheck.h regarding things like P...

My model of a British 24 PDR Cannon - the HMS Victory

With my now re-kindled interest in cannon and looks like now a future employment en devour on the subject matter, I printed a very nice scale object/model based on a 18th century British 24 pdr cannon, the type found on the British ship, the HMS Victory cira 1805. They were reported to have been mad...

Re: First Build and Almost There But Need Help - PLZ

I'm no expert on the matter you mentioned, however I would: - double check proper connections to all thermistors, motors etc. - do the axis motors properly move? - have you checked your current settings for the motors on the control board? - what type of control board RAMPS 1.3, 1.4? - is the extrud...

Re: Hictop Upgrades

Calvin, do you have the source for the modified stock version? All you have to do is go through the Configuration.h file and apply any changes to the one I'm using and you should be good to go. If you have the firmware source, send that to me or .zip it up and post it here, I'd like to take a look a...

Prusa I3 Fine Calibration - exellent information

Gang, In case you missed it, here is a link to a multi-page and a fairly large read of how to build, setup, software explained, print, calibrate, set slicer's, etc. document. Although the layout and format is a little outdated, the data in there is one of the best and comprehensive I have come acros...

Re: Weird printing errors

That is strange. I assume you are using a HIC i3 type printer? With no pictures or video of what is happening the problem cannot be determined here. Random lines sounds like a slicer issue? Doubt it's the firmware as I/we are having no issues on our end, but maybe you could try another firmware vers...

That is a strange one. Can you share or link your .stl file so someone might also try printing it?

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Created an account to participate as this is the best discussion I have found for fellow HIC users, and I would like to first thank you Chip. I have gotten the latest Marlin to work well with my HIC i3, Model: 3DP-18 However, my initial attempt to utilize the RepRap Full Graphics LCD did not take. ...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

Sorry, I have another question. Extra crap like this, // Ultimaker (was Marlin default) //#define DEFAULT_Kp 22.2 //#define DEFAULT_Ki 1.08 //#define DEFAULT_Kd 114 // MakerGear //#define DEFAULT_Kp 7.0 //#define DEFAULT_Ki 0.1 //#define DEFAULT_Kd 12 // Mendel Parts V9 on 12V //#define DEFAULT_Kp ...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

I'll check that out, I also ordered the lead screws today. I have the Marlin code Hictop uses. I'll look at it for the changes for the lead screw. Do you have an actual copy of the source code? Let me know, I'd like a copy for comparison and documentation. On the Z-axis lead screws, all you should ...
