Re: Interesting Ultimaker Steel Frame Build
It will not draw 16 amps unless you turn the amperage up to max, so a 13A circuit will work just fine if you limit the max current yourself.

Re: Interesting Ultimaker Steel Frame Build
It draws about 16A at max current, but if you run it at lower currents you can probably run it just fine at a 10A fuse. It is not the best machine, china made and exists under a infinite number of brands, but it is usable for some hobby welding. There is some newer models from the same manufacturers...

Re: Josef talks about Multiextrusion and more
I guess I like his open-ness about what he is working on. Versus selling a printer, when you know you are releasing a new one the next day (i.e. Ultimaker) :) I think when you help your customers understand what you are working on, that helps build excitement. Prusa has the luxury of having a huge ...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
The Ultimaker 3 got the exact same power supply and the same heated bed, the only (larger) difference in power should be that it got two heaters for the print head.
If those are making your power flicker... Then you got a supply problem...

Re: Best wood-fill filament?
I prefer using 0.6mm nozzles with all wood-filled filaments, no clogs as long as you dont leave the filament hot for longer times without extrusion. The Corkfill is a really nice finish, but it has a very light texture, so it is more of a dark brown with a nice luster. The Woodfill has a bit heavier...

Re: Interesting Ultimaker Steel Frame Build
I would just do some TIG fusion tack welding at the end of each anchor, it puts very little heat into the material, so you get very little deformation problems compared to welding longer sections, and it works great on stainless steel!

Re: Bondtech BMG
No problem, i was not very specific in my first post
The ZGE looks like it might be a lot better solution for direct drive on the UM gantry, and i am very interested to see how that project moves forward!

Re: Bondtech BMG
Yeah, I would not even think about mounting it as a direct feeder on a UM gantry, I was more thinking about the FT-5 guys.

Bondtech BMG
Have you guys seen the new Bondtech BMG extruder?
http://www.bondtech.se/en/products/extr ... -extruder/
Looks like a pretty nice option for a lightweight geared 1.75mm extruder.

Re: UM2 Material Settings for UM Flex-PLA and InnoFlex 45?
The Ultimaker Flexible PLA has been discontinued for quite a while now, even if i think we have one or two old spools still left in stock.
My current favorite flexible filament is the Ultimaker TPU95A and the Ninjatek Cheetah, followed by the Polymaker PolyFlex.

Can it (the FT-5) handle a 2500g extruder?
I am looking into building a custom printer, where the extruder will be a dispenser like this: http://i.imgur.com/Xe0xl9Q.jpg The total weight of the print head will be somewhere around 2,5kg and very long (about 40cm height) I will probably build a custom machine instead, but it would save quite so...
