Re: Zebras begone!

Hm, next week they are on sale on aliexpress, €6.51 for a set of 3. Might even order them, though I hardly print, and never noticed the problem what so ever. I'll check my old prints though. @Neotko, you mentioned silent, that is a different solution path right? When I was printing again after a ye...

Re: 3D Gecko printer

So far I have finished all the basic assembly and probably today I’ll turn it on. There’s a few issues along the way but they answered pretty much everything on their facebook forum. - The fixing screws for the bottom panels could be 2mm longer versions. Sounds silly but this panels keep all square ...

Re: CoreXY + a-la-um2frame + Internal rails + Duet3D = Woa

I have begun collecting parts for a DICE, and it will be built with high-quality parts only, so HIWIN rails etc. Recieved the water jet cut parts a few weeks ago, and i have a order with René for the water cooling parts :-) That one will most probably be able to print at 100mm/s without any noticea...

Re: CoreXY + a-la-um2frame + Internal rails + Duet3D = Woa

Man I would love to buy a frame or have access to cnc stuff to make something like this. In the end there’s really very few places to just click/buy a setup like that. And nearby fablabs here in Madrid are very weak. So no option to go cnc a frame to save cash. Or the most important missing skill fo...

Re: CoreXY + a-la-um2frame + Internal rails + Duet3D = Woa

Making a tension system on the corexy is much eaythan the um since it has only 2 belts that tight near the hotend. The problem is the find the right amount of tension. About how to calculate that there’s no much info.

His printhead and extruder drive are huge. Really impressive that he can still achieve high speeds. I wonder how much of a difference it can be when you have a much smaller and lighter printhead.
I would love to see a zge on that or a 60grms pancake motor.

Re: 3D Gecko printer

Well his psu seems defective but on the facebook the main guy behind the printer looks very active and direct admitted that some early kits didn’t had enough QC. Good that they are eager to talk and find the troubles. On the other side. Maybe it’s just me but I think the kit is actually as cheap as ...

CoreXY + a-la-um2frame + Internal rails + Duet3D = Woa

Writing about the 3d gecko remind me of this sexy printer build I saw today on the Duet3D forums https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?id=1905 Check this printer quality and videos.. 150mm/s and that quality? Duet3D + Corexy + stable frame = woa. http://i.imgur.com/MQxG1X1.jpg https://www.youtube....

Re: 3D Gecko printer

I'd be concerned about the belt drive. While my Hictop uses belts for X Y, Z is threaded rod, which allows for better precision. I guess it depends on the movementsofa. XY for speed, Z for accuracy? I guess I just don't know enough yet. Oh I really don't know. I suppose the advantage of keeping the...

Re: 3D Gecko printer

I think the printer might work ok at 50mm/s also direct drive for me is the one option, don’t want to go bowden again. My plans to make it lighter after the first month of use is to change the hotend to a pseudo um2 hotend OR installing the pancake motor to remove weight on the hotend. Indeed the la...
