Cleaning the Z axis threads?

Hi all, after years of use, the threads of the Z axis on my UM2 have acquired a layer of lube/grease and dust that is hard to tolerate. Is there a clever way to clean this without messing up the whole printer inside or taking the printer appart completely? What do you use to get the green grease tha...

Thingiverse going the Ultimaker route - downhill :-(

Looks like Thingiverse has pulled an Ultimaker move and released a new revision of their website that is a complete fail! Loading times are horrible - >1min to just open a design.

@LePaul will you take over that one too? :-D

Re: How to model builtin support structures?

Yes, 0.5 seems to be the minimum width to prevent the slicer from not generating g-code for a support wall. Do you let your support touch the area it supports on the full length or keep a gap of one layer? I have seen this sometimes that there is a one layer gap or the last layer only has a few high...

How to model builtin support structures?

Hi all, I am currently working on a part where the generated support of slicers doesn't work to well and I would like to add custom supports already in the CAD file. To get structures that break away easy but aren't removed by the slicer, I am now looking for tips and tricks on how to size them. Do ...

Re: UM2 and IRobertI feeder - filament snaps behind bearing

I don't want to go that route for two reasons - I already have the Olsson Block and I have the second extruder populated, so I would need to replace the feeder and the feeder motor there too I guess.

UM2 and IRobertI feeder - filament snaps behind bearing

Hi all, I use IRobertI's feeder (https://www.youmagine.com/designs/alternative-um2-feeder-version-two) now for many years but recently experience an annoying issue: Suddenly, sometimes after a few layers, sometimes very far in the print, the filament snaps behind the bearing in the feeder and then c...

PLA prints stick to BuildTek too much - What to do?

Hi all,

I have applied a new BuildTek surface on my Fabrikator Mini and now have the unusual problem that my PLA prints stick way to good to it. Is there a way to make PLA stick less strong to it?

Best regards,
Reiner

Re: Testing out a new style!

I find the "power button" symbol very unintuitive for "Login" - Especially in the top right corner... maybe I work too much with Windows Server :-)

How to define a new printer in Cura?

I would like to create a Cura machine setting for the Fabrikator Mini 1.5, but I am stuck with the measurements for the printhead. Is there a guideline how to measure the x-min, y-min, x-max, y-max and nozzle offset values? Maybe a little sketch that shows how they are meant?

Re: How's everyone doing...2019 version!

Last Saturday we had the monthly opening of the Repair Cafe here in my town where I volunteer. Since most of the volunteers are older guys that are interested in all kinds of technology but had never seen a 3D printer in action, I packed my little Fabrikator Mini and a roll of filament to my usual t...

Letting Moderators delete that stuff seems to be a solved issue... https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2343271
Is that enabled for Moderators here?
