Re: Upgrade kit available
the kit is comfortable for all the new unexperienced users, and there must be a lot by now, to support the 'plug and play' behavior, but it is a pity that the experienced users have to wait some more. Seeing all the troubles with the temp sensor for those who where installing the OB, getting the wir...

Re: Upgrade kit available
I believe it is mentioned somewhere that the separate items will be available at a later moment. So the focus is on the whole kit first.

Re: Ultimaker 2 pancake stepper direct drive
I have seen one about a third your size last week, there are more models around. And compared to an american fridge..
But yours looks like a beast... Why is it not worth for you to get it back to work?

Re: Show off My latest Print
looks good! are there scientific studies of fan behavior? There must be a lot of difference between a printhead that is stationary or moving in all directions. It must be hard to experience what a fast moving print head generates; in fact, even when the fan blows directly downwards, by the time it '...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
yes, it is protoPasta. I still have to think what to do with it... Saw some examples that were 'rusted' What I like about these metal filled filaments is the weight, the prints don't look and feel as plastic anymore. Would be really interested in tungsten filament, not for the mechanical properties,...

Re: Ultimaker 2 pancake stepper direct drive
Tungsten filament should not be too difficult, it is still a powder mixed with a plastic and it is the plastic that melts. The weight is great! I have a real tungsten print... it was a trade with someone from the medical devision of Philips; he asked if they could print one of my ring designs for di...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
Do you have any results for stainless steel pla? I have a 125 gr. sample lying around, waiting for some nice purpose.. And I am curious how it behaves when changing between a lot of filaments. I am not a bulk user of a specific filament, but use a lot of different materials for testing and prototypi...

Re: Cura wish list
Nallath, will there be in a new version of the ability to move between layers with keyboard? Some Shift+Up/Shift+Down in a layer view mode? Yep :) (ctrl + up / down) to be precise This doesn't work on MacOS (10.10.5) this combination shows all my open windows next to each other. In Cura 15.04 it wo...

Re: Using larger nozzles on the UMO
you can also drill the UMO nozzles yourself, there is a youtube movie howto. Place the nozzle in the drill and hold the drill in your hand, The drill will center itself in the excising hole. I did a 0.6 and 0.8 and some nozzles for others at an Ultimaker evening, it's easy...

Re: Using larger nozzles on the UMO
Things to take care of: first layer is more difficult, especially when support is used, so go slow on the first layer (the fast travel of the head could rip off fresh lines). Bed calibration and first layer thickness could be adjusted. If possible use a large brim, this also helps calibrating the fi...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
very interested as well!
testing/buying, would like to try it with all the exotic materials I have lying around to see what the limits and possibilities are. I have some Protopasta steel filament lying around and love the other metal filled filaments.
