Re: Discussion: Collaborative 3D model library
Not sure if it supports your CAD program, but I have used BOLTS in the past for some OpenSCAD designs. Looks interesting. But these are parametric "scripts" (if I get that correctly) which are mostly useful for OpenSCAD. Imho, an actual export format that can be imported into any CAD soft...

Re: Discussion: Collaborative 3D model library
Checking and managing is indeed a lot of work. The librarian's work. But it is the only way to make a difference between the "garbage collector" sites that are so big that you actually need so much time to find a good part that you coulda just drawn it up yourself. It also means that some ...

Re: Feedback...how's it look?
Okay I went ahead (it's good to be king... :) ) I don't want to shrink down too many areas...but I agree that the ones that have potential to have many sub-topics looks better this way Hmm.. Not sure about these subforums. Now they are kinda hard to find (only found them because I was looking for t...

Discussion: Collaborative 3D model library
So, I've only just started working with an actual 3D CAD program (used to work with Sketchup 8 until a few weeks a go), and am currently working on getting my designs transferred from Sketchup to CAD (SpaceClaim). Making parts libraries for often-used components such as standard hardware, ball beari...

Re: Feedback...how's it look?
First of all, I LOVE THE PHPBB forum!! Finally a good old, actual forum :) But for my taste, there's too many categories! For example, "show off your latest print" could just as well be one topic inside the General 3D Printing Conversation category. Why make a new topic for every print som...

SpaceClaim
Anyone here using SpaceClaim? I just got started with it (evaluation license expired a few days ago, but I should get my proper license within 2 weeks). I really love it so far. It's a very intuitive but also mighty tool. I'll be making all my models with it from now on. You get a free home license ...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Got a lot to do at work, and I'm still playing through XCOM2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. And I moved to a new home a few weeks ago. So, it could happen that I'm not online that often these days

Re: New area!
Imho this category is far too specialized to justify making a category for it. Why not call this category "tip & tricks" or something, and make "using different nozzle sizes" a topic inside that category? I doubt you want to make a forum category for every kind of "trick...

Re: Welcome, where are you from?
Hi all, Jonny from Switzerland here! I'm an electronics guy, currently expanding my horizon with mechanical engineering stuff. Been working on a new super-duper-3D-printer for around 3 years now. I am currently building the third prototype which has some hopes of actually working and maybe living up...
