Re: Uploading/flashing Marlin to your Hic i3 (or other)
I'm having issues uploading the new firmware to my printer. As seen in attached I get a timeout. not sure why. I can control my printer in Repetier Host. Looks like your USB driver for the port or configuration is incorrect(?), cannot tell from that screen shot. Also, you should have Repetier host ...

Re: Firmware Marlin-1.1.0-RC6 - now running
Again as others have asked, I do not use nor have enabled autobed leveling. It's commented out in the Configuration.h file and you have to enable it there after checking 'probing points' and uploading the firmware to your printer.

Re: Firmware Marlin-1.1.0-RC6 - now running
Hi Chip, I have your firmware running fairly well now, but one problem I can't seem to change. When I run the stock firmware, the Z Axis is fine. But when I load your firmware, the Z-axis is too high by several mm, probably 3 or 4. Changing the inductive Z-sensor doesn't seem to matter-the Z-home s...

Re: Mendel inductive sensor z-probe
What is the benefit of the inductive sensor anyway? The mechanical sensor seems to do exactly the same thing, but without the problems...any reason we need the inductive one? So called auto-bed-leveling probing software, option with various probe grid/point probing is one reason. I can only use indu...

Re: Glass bed question
I've got my hic i3 metal frame auto leveling printer up and going. I'd like to add a Borosilicate glass plate, but I have a question on how to execute it since my printer has the SN0-4 inductive z axis sensor. With the addition of a typical 3mm glass plate I'm pretty sure when doing it's auto homin...

Re: New 3D Printer build
Just finished building a HICTOP 3DP11 and decided it needed a wiring harness instead of the one length fits all vendor decision. I can find all the pins and bodies for the Dupont servo style connectors but the XH2.54 JST style connectors are a problem. Does anyone have the part number for the pins ...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information
It's ok, I followed your directions to install Marlin-but it didn't work that well for me, so I reinstalled the Marlin version here someone posted that HICTech sent them for my 3DP17. Is your Marlin version for the 3dP17 or will it work on it? I do not know, I have the 3DP12 with a standard MK8 ext...

Re: Firmware Marlin-1.1.0-RC6 - now running
Chip, I uploaded your firmware and everything seems to be running fine, but when the bed begins to heat, it gets near to 220 and stops, saying "Heating Failed". Any ideas? Not sure, bed goes to 220(!) then there is something wrong in your hardware or pin configuration is my guess. If you ...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information
Is there any way of downloading the HEX file for the latest stable Marlin version for an HIC Prusa i3 3DP-17? I don't know how to compile all of the source code, and was just going to use Cura to upload the .hex file. Unless you can get an 'official' HEX version from your manufacturer, from my expe...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information
I tried the 1.1.0-RC7 version only changing the Configuration.h and it’s working just fine. (maybe a little risky with this new version) The only thing I’m missing is the “auto bed level” feature. Have you tested this in one of the newer marlin versions ? Correct, really all you have to do is edit ...

Re: Firmware Marlin-1.1.0-RC6 - now running
M303 E0 S200 C8 used to obtain auto tune values. After a second look it does appear to vary closer to 1-2 degrees after 20 min or so using Ultimaker values. The auto values never even make it that far and return "thermal runaway"after about 10 min or so. 30min.png I never had to mess with...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information
Thanks Chip Luck I asked Hictop for a new version of the source code and got the same old version (Marlin_3DP17_398) as you wrote about. I will start testing with this version, so I can come back to a working solution. Then testing with marlin 1.1.0-RC6, I will try only changing the steps in Config...

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information
I have been reading this tread and found it so interesting, that I bought a HICTOP 3DP17 printer. (My first 3D printer) The printer is working well, but need some adjustment. I didn´t get any source code with the delivery and I would like to change some values in configuration.h. Is the best way ju...

Re: Firmware Marlin-1.1.0-RC6 - now running
Just a quick thanks Chip Excellent The PID autotune values were too unstable though Ultimaker default PID,auto bed leveling working great. The Configuration.h file Ultimaker default PID when used on my 3DP-12 HIC i3 was very un-stable. After running auto-tune (you can see the changes in the file) m...
