Re: The Flex3Drive

Could you point me to those better tests? I'm very curious to try them!

Re: The Flex3Drive

Ah yes, you are right about that. On the small cylinders the text is much crisper at lower speed. On the big cylinder the text seems to be printed at the same speed every time, so the quality doesn't really change.

Re: The Flex3Drive

Ivan, I don't really understand you. What image are you referring to, and what do you mean by shifting axis?

Re: The Flex3Drive

I've never tried timing the test, and I'm not sure how useful it would be since it prints the text quite a bit slower than the rest of the cylinder. I could try printing a simple cylinder without text and see how it turns out. Might be interesting... A square is a little bit trickier than a circle, ...

Re: The Flex3Drive

Of course! The best way to learn is to share experiences if you ask me. You take some and you give some. What I forgot to add above by the way: Printing PLA at 230 °C is not a very representative test if you ask me. That is not a temperature you would use when actually printing something. Overhangs ...

Re: The Flex3Drive

Hey guys, I had some time today so I wanted to show you some tests I did on my printer. Of course one of the most interesting things to test is the extrusion: how fast can you go? I printed a bunch of test cylinders, both with the UM2 with Robert's feeder modification , and with the Flex3Drive. I go...

Re: Teaser for the New Ultimaker....here we go!

Could you tell us something about the feeder? It looks different from the UM2+ feeder (much thicker), but what has changed?

Edit:
I'd also like to see some video that was taken using the built in camera. The timelapses that are shown don't appear to be made by it, the camera angle doesn't match.

Re: Teaser for the New Ultimaker....here we go!

At €120 for a print core I honestly can't imagine they're supposed to be disposable...

Also it just doesn't make sense to throw the heater, sensor, cooling block, etc., away when all that needs to be replaced is the nozzle.

I suppose you can still replace the nozzles on them...?

Re: PID Autotune

Since I started using Simplify3D I can now easily see the temperature as the bed and the nozzle heat up, and it actually doesn't overshoot at all. Apparently the PID values I found are pretty much spot on. I suspect the error had something to do with pronterface, I've had some weird issues when usin...

Cool. Does it have dual extrusion now or did you just leave the old tube in place?

Can you give any indication of what the price will be?
