Re: Offset in the X & Y directions

Hi all
Found the solution to the slipping in the Y axis as above.
I tuned the motors, I increased the power by a quarter turn see:

It has been working for a few days now without any skipping. :-)

Re: Folger ABS

The "ABS Slurry" worked very well. It was like a thick milk when I applied it to the glass. :-)

Re: Folger ABS

I found some "normal" ABS and it dissolved in minutes, so it is the Folger ABS that's the problem.

I got this reply frm Folger:
It is mainly ABS but there are some additives as well.

Thanks,
Folger Tech Team

Now we know.

Re: Folger ABS

I can get the bed to over 100°C, it does take a little time.
I have been using glue but it doesn't always work with ABS.

Folger ABS

Hi All I have been trying to print with ABS with various results. One problem I am having like everyone else is sticking the ABS to the bed. I have tried making slurry but the ABS will not dissolve even after a few days. I am using pure Acetone and cut 1.75 filament straight off the reel. According ...

Re: Offset in the X & Y directions

Thanks LePaul
I have a stock FT-5 apart from a 4mm glass plate on the bed.
I plan to improve areas of the printer that need it as I go.
My first aim is to learn how to use a 3D printer and get good parts from it.

Re: Folgertech FT-5

Thanks for the tip LePaul.
I have seen these nozzles and they look good, do you need to modify anything because the E3Dv6 nozzle has a different connection to the existing nozzle.

regards

Hi all I am starting to do longer prints, the problem is the power supply in our house isn't good. I have a ups on the PC's, but what size will I need for the FT-5. The power usually goes off for 1 min sometime a little bit longer but generally no more than 5 mins.. It's frustrating getting 2 hours ...

Re: Offset in the X & Y directions

I think I have solved the problem. It was gradually improving the more I printed. I tried various positions on the bed and found that if I printed close to "home" there was no problem. This morning I checked everything mechanical. I added a link to the umbilical on the y axis, 1 more than ...

Offset in the X & Y directions

Hi all I have managed to build and get running the FT5. I have gone through the usual problems of the plastic not sticking to the table etc. I now have a problem I don't know how to solve. I can print a part that has a small footprint (X&Y) OK but when I do something bigger I get an offset in th...
