Re: Regenerating drying bags

Now I am browsing Amazon for dehydrators - not for the dry bags but to make beef jerky... thanks @nallath!

Re: PTFE coupler - Theory and practical details

Shouldn't it be sufficient to tighten the metal coupler with a defined torque if the spring replacement is used? Then we would need something that allows to apply that amount of torque.

Could you share more about your OctoPrint setup Martin? That sounds very interesting :-)

Re: Raspberry Pi 3

I have used a webcam in the past but I am still missing the information from the progress bar on the front display. Unfortunately it seems impossible to get that information with one camera as the depth of focus/sharpness and the angle needed to capture both is just too big.

Re: Raspberry Pi 3

The thing with the profiles and the fact that OctoPrint screwed up a print or two when it was trying to connect to the printer while it was printing from the SD card where the reason why I gave up on using it with my UM2. I would like to keep the possibility to print from SD card and would use it ma...

Re: TinkerGnome's UM2 firmware - wishlist

I would like to add an "atomic pull wizard" to the wish list. The function could be selectable from the maintenance menu and should then do the necessary heat up and cool down for the filament selected (ABS/PLA).

Regenerating drying bags

Hi all,

Is it possible to regenerate the little drying bags that come with filament rolls? I think I read somewhere that they contain silica gel and can be dried in an oven. Is this the case and if so, what temperature and time?

Yes, or ask the admin to move an existing good explanation to such a category for future reference.

Re: My short To Do list

I am not sure if a wiki is the right thing for such stuff. I think this could be better handled with sticky articles - maybe in a seperate, closed for comments category. I use other forums where more code examples are used and components are discussed. There the forum wiki is used a lot, but I don't...

IKEA hack: Portable 3D printer workbench

Since the topic came up in another thread, I will use the chance and show off my home made portable 3D printer workbench :-) The idea is based on an article about IKEA hacking that I read in the German MAKE: magazin. It featured an IKEA hack that converted the BEKVÄM serving cart into a portable wor...

Re: Ultimaker Original+ Extended custom build at Stockholm Makerspace

@Blizz: I have my UM2 also on a lazy susan bearing. I created a nice stand for it from an IKEA Bekväm serving cart and some additional parts. The power cord goes under the UM2 through a whole in the middle down to the power supply which is fixed to the cart. This way I can turn it very easy to chang...

Re: Feedback...how's it look?

Titus, have you tried setting the "Open External Links in New Window" setting in your profile to "No"? I think that setting should match your taste better.
