Re: UM2 print head project
Thanks to you !
I do not count my time, I took early retirement last 7 months, I have all my time
the largest time is spent in reflection and CAD drawing, it's 90% of the work done, and then after when machining that is really relaxing !

Re: UM2 print head project
Hi to all Sorry to monopolize the post, it's just a willingness to share! I'm still in my trips of print head  Originally before finalizing PBI print head, I drew this one, and I am back on this project while I am satisfied with the results of PBI project, This one may be easier and le...

Re: UM2 print head project
Gudo, i have some thoughts about your print head, it looks like you have copied the aluminium heat sink designs and i belive you are going with way too many and too long fins, since the PBI has so low thermal conductivity the upper fins and the outer edges of the fins will never get hot, you could ...

Re: UM2 print head project
Hi to all I'm still in my investigations concerning the use of PBI I tested especially with the PLA filament, to understand the behavior of the polymer Everything goes well except that I foolishly broke a coupler by overtightening the heat block, http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2016/07/13//160...

Re: UM2 print head project
I like the rigidity solution idea Thanks! I do that for my print head project, it's will be a bit tricky with the UM2 stock print head because of there is not so much space at " home position ", risk of collusion if raise the bed ! needed to make the supports in a flat piece of high grade...

Re: UM2 print head project
That is very impressive gudo! I am particularly interested in the experiences with PBI since it has potential to permanently solve the PLA issues with no drawbacks. Did you try printing other materials than PLA yet? Thanks Anders ! This polymer is really very promising for 3D print , thanks to its ...

Hi Neotko , thanks !Neotko wrote:Men you are really doing some interesting stuff!
We play with a very small layers thicks, 0.25 , 0.4 .... so I think that any improvement in the motion would be good for the print results, may be I'm too much perfectionist
