Re: Ultimaker 3 released!
I have been wondering lately, why haven't you added a filament sensor that measures whether there is filament left and that it actually moves too? Seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to get working, and would add some very useful functionality. In fact, it has already been done . Same with a fu...

Those are some cute kitties. I'm more of a dog person myself though.

Re: Help with a lifting brim, please!
I've never used tape so I can't help you with that. Clean glass at 60 °C works just fine for me when I'm using PLA. I only use a brim when I print something with sharp corners, round edges don't tend to warp as much usually. I did have some issues with poor first layer adhesion, even though the bed ...

Sounds like you should upgrade to dual extrusion by using foehnsturm's tool changing system!

Do you mean the "beep beep"? That's just the feeder retracting. Just look at the back, you can see the stepper moving

Re: The Flex3Drive
By feedrate I assume you mean speed? I agree this is a good way to test what speed you can reach, but what I like about the cylinders is that you get an easily reproducible result that you can compare to others. In my experience so far, you do indeed need to increase the flow rate when you print fas...

Capital and lower case letters, numbers, symbols, and plenty of characters. You taught your kid well!

Re: The Flex3Drive
Ah yes, you are right about that. On the small cylinders the text is much crisper at lower speed. On the big cylinder the text seems to be printed at the same speed every time, so the quality doesn't really change.

Ivan, I don't really understand you. What image are you referring to, and what do you mean by shifting axis?

Re: The Flex3Drive
I've never tried timing the test, and I'm not sure how useful it would be since it prints the text quite a bit slower than the rest of the cylinder. I could try printing a simple cylinder without text and see how it turns out. Might be interesting... A square is a little bit trickier than a circle, ...

Re: The Flex3Drive
Of course! The best way to learn is to share experiences if you ask me. You take some and you give some. What I forgot to add above by the way: Printing PLA at 230 °C is not a very representative test if you ask me. That is not a temperature you would use when actually printing something. Overhangs ...

Re: The Flex3Drive
Hey guys, I had some time today so I wanted to show you some tests I did on my printer. Of course one of the most interesting things to test is the extrusion: how fast can you go? I printed a bunch of test cylinders, both with the UM2 with Robert's feeder modification , and with the Flex3Drive. I go...
