Re: UM2 to UM2+ print head upgrade
Looking around Youmagine I see @Anders Olsson has a spacer as does @Neotko Since you are less a tinkerer and more a print-use-forget. Print a normal spacer or the @gr5 spacer Anders Olsson spacer allows to adjust the distance. It requieres a fine tuned machine and a good hightemp material for it to...

That's not new. I have some samples but never used them since they need more air venting on the room than abs and I already hate abs smell.

Re: UM2 service parts / upgrade.
Shafts I would get igus (they sell by web and custom size) or Misumi (I have from both, both are superb) Pulleys if I where to get new ones I would get S2M. Is the ones um3 uses and they should work better (but my um3 beta has gt2 so no idea). S2M has same tooth size than gt2 so steps remain the sam...

Re: Pancake? Stepper? Or go Bowden setup?
Isn't just the voltage that the motor can use, but how much it heats under use at that V. There's a point where it will shorten its life span (because is a giant magnet inside) and because the heat can be really really high. You should get a infrared heat sensor and test for 10-20-30mins to 1h how h...

Also didn't you had s3d? That start/end also works. Nothing special about that. You know gcode, edit it. Is very straight forward and gcode info is on the marlin um2 (google)

That part you have he answer on the forum. Also, that info is on the machine definition when you set the reprap flavor like the small txt says.
