Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I have seen some of Babylon 5, but it never stuck with me. Lexx, never heard of it. SW has always been special...Ep.4-6, and now also 7 (a trilogy with 4 episodes :P ). Ep.1-3 I haven't seen. But my son want's to so I guess I will soon. I'm just glad he got to see 4-6 before 7...and before 1-3. I li...

Optimizing models and object directions for 3D-printing

It's been many years since I learned CAD (and some CAM) and at that time 3D printers were far, far away from common. Now I have started to play with it again, mostly for fun and not really for profit. So do you have any good links to things related to how you can optimize: Your 3D-models for printin...

Re: HICTOP - Software

Not sure if this is the exact same printer...but in this thread there is a link to a firmware with configuration that seems to be originating from the seller.

Re: Ultimaker 2 pancake stepper direct drive

You play with too much cool stuff :P That metal printer reminds me of an old 3D-printer we went to see at the University in Trondheim back in -94/-95. But in my memory it was bigger than this one, and only printed in plastic, with wax as support, and the resolution was way worse than what we can get...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3

Looking forward to that. This looks way more useful than a full OctoPrint installation :) Again depending what you are looking for. If you still want to play with SD cards (what I can understand if you are an UM2 user) OctoPrint is indeed not what you need. But for UMO users (or if you don't care a...

Re: User Map

I, and probably Anders too, grew up with a measuring devices that had both metric and inches on it. So for us it doesn't matter that much if it is metric or inches :)
Todays generation in Sweden only see the metric stuff because that is what you find in the stores.

Re: PTFE coupler - Theory and practical details

Great! We have an UM2 in our office that was fun to play with in the beginning. But now it is just giving me headaches when I want to print something. I think too many "chefs" in combination with this issue has degenerated it a lot. I'm going to suggest them to buy a new coupler and puttin...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3

And OctoPrint works fine? I got the impression from UM-forum that printing over USB doesn't work so well and wasn't really supported by UM.
