Re: Pulled the trigger...fbrc8 UM2 refurb
Thanks for the link. I live in the Netherlands, and shipping is almost as expensive as the bearing itself. So I am gonna try and see if I can find one locally first

Oh wow, that is a great guide! I just need to find the right lube, but I think I know a store that should have it.

Cleaning the lead screw
Hey guys,
I noticed the z-axis lead screw is a bit dirty. There are quite a few plastic 'strings' wrapped around it. The screw is very greasy but it seems to be quite dirty, it's very dark. How can I best clean this up, and what should I use to grease the axis?

Congrats, sounds like a great deal!
@Izzy, that lazy susan looks like a great idea. If I find some place I can get a bearing like that I might just make one myself

Re: Print too small, steps/mm wrong or something else?
I agree, .2 mm accuracy isn't bad at all. I'll check my next prints to see how they turn out. I've looked at the belts before and they didn't feel loose, but to be honest I don't really know how tight they should be. I'll give them a closer look.

Print too small, steps/mm wrong or something else?
Hey guys, Today I designed and printed a lid for the washing pole hole, the old one had pretty much turned to dust. Re: 3DSolex upgrade parts
I've been reading about the flex3drive as much as I could before I ordered it, but I haven't found any reports of people having trouble with the gears. If you could point me to them that would be appreciated, I'd like to read them so I know what to look for if I do have issues.

Re: 3DSolex upgrade parts
Today I finally took the time to measure the resistance of my heater. It was about 26 ohms, so that is about 22 W. Since I will be replacing the feeder system with the Flex3Drive soon (should get a delivery this week), I figured I might as well do some other upgrades at the same time. So I will be g...

3DSolex upgrade parts
Hey all, I've been looking at some of the upgrades that 3DSolex offers, but I'm not sure whether I should get them. Does anyone have experience with: I2K insulator TFT 255C coupler 35 Watt heater Are these worth getting? I had a look at my coupler last week and as far as I could tell it still looks ...

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
Hi MTVDNA, (you've got to let us know an easier Name  ) The main advantage is when printing with carbon fibre or abrasive filaments, we are testing them on all sorts to try and debug them as it were, to see what they do and don't like to print, how best to clean out filament and clean the outs...

Re: TinkerGnome's UM2 firmware - wishlist
I have also been using TinkerMarlin for a while now and I love it, but I do have one feature request though. I don't often use the change material option, because I can just release the clamp on the feeder and change filament manually, which imho is a lot easier. However, I do like the way it keeps ...
