Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots

Time for an update I guess, sorry for being away for so long, lots of stuff to deal with here. After the initial test batch that you have tested we decided to change the design a bit. The updated design features a slightly larger ruby, a mechanically stronger fixing of the ruby and (hopefully) impr...

Re: UM2 print head project

HI to all @ Drayson : " is this possible to be machined with this material?? " Yes it is ! PBI can be machined as the inox steel machining process For getting a compact & easy access print head I redrew it in 3 main parts : the XY carriage , the PBI hot end support and the articulated ...

Re: UM2 print head project

Hi all Hi Neotko It's been a long time ! I was busy on other project This may be why it worked for me  , because I always tested PBI with the Bondtech feeder from the beginning, never with the UM origin one. Anyway my PBI print head still works fine without any problems yet. Neotko ,   for PBI...

Re: UM2 print head project

Play with the nozzle size so that corners get full lines. Ifor a 0.4 nozzle you can go 0.33 if you have perfect zero drip between moves (and looks you do). Nice print! Hi all Neotko ! I test the 0.33 nozzle setting, my home town's blazon (70x76x5.8mm ) low relief print (PLA TEC material) , it seems...

Re: Identify a (non-metric?) thread

I tried the M8x0.75 that is used in the 3.5mm version of the manufacturer that @Amedee found and I tried the 8.26x1 that @gudo suggested, but both do not match. I think I will use that design without a thread and then use the heated plug as a "self-tapping" screw :-) I have one 3.5 jack p...

Re: Identify a (non-metric?) thread

Hi all, I have a couple of 3.5mm audio jack plugs here where the plastic cover is so brittle that it breaks into pieces on the first touch. Since these covers are not too complex, I had the idea of printing new ones. The only problem is the thread that connects the metal part of the plug with the p...

Re: UM2 print head project

Hi to all It's vacation time, but this is not a reason to relax in 3D printing ! here Biofila PLA TEC print test, I really love this material ! it is not perfect yet but it is encouraging ;-) https://youtu.be/mxhCL19KDRU. http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2016/08/06//1608060212172171991441420...

Re: 3Dsolex Matchless Nozzles

Day by day, I start to think....What can't Gudo do? :) It’s not to copy 3D Solex This customization has a story  It started with a mistake I did in machining the PBI coupler I was too hurried, I tapped it at M6X1 pitch instead of M6X 0.75 to match the Olsson block, to save my job, I had the o...

Re: 3Dsolex Matchless Nozzles

I got mines on a box waiting for a break on production to actually test something. The part I don't like it's that there's no push holes for the sensor/heater on the shiny um2 block. Anyhow the idea of using more metal contacting the filament makes sense that should work, but I don't think that the...

Re: UM2 print head project

Some thing I have done a few times to help warping is to print a couple of layers and then pause, then using some tape, tape the brim to the bed then continue to print, it provided just enough adhersion to keep the brim on the bed. Hi Izzy I like this idea, it's a good trick, inspiring me how I fix...

Re: UM2 print head project

Hi to all I continue my PBI experiences Today I test for the first time the ABS extrusion with the PBI print head Benchy served as an example, it was printed with a EasyFil ABS from Form Futura at 252°print temp ABS material settings of the printer 0.4mm nozzle, 0.1 layers, 50mm/s print speed, 0.8mm...
