Re: Hic 3DP-08 Marlin 1.1.0 RC8
I know it... i got a 12864LCD installed and it took me 90 minutes to figure out how to make it work.... I didnt know anything prior to my printer either, but i am a good self thought learner... and yes the 90 minutes was not around enabling the right comment... it was about making sure i disabled on...

Re: Build surface advice
I have always used Glass and glue stick. Love the fact that never had adhesion problems, and loveeeeeeee the smoothness glass leaves on that first layer. A little razor scrape, some 91% alcohol or water on a paper towel, and BAM, clean as new. CAN NOT go wrong with this. As i have done it few hundre...

Re: Auto Bed, Lead Screw, Extruder Upgrade MK2 from Prusa3d
Just by looking at the actual hardware, i would say its not compatible. But for that price alone, the hot end, motors, and bed are almost worth the price themselves. I spent about $79 shipped for a E3Dv6 full hot end kit with an extra nozzle and extra silicone covers. Im sure theres ways to make it ...

Hic 3DP-08 Marlin 1.1.0 RC8
Since a few of you asked, Im sharing my good working RC8 Marlin firmware for my Hic 3DP-08 I am NOT as good at this firmware stuff as others may be. I only have 4-5 months of experience dealing with this. But at least i can attest that it works fine for my setup. About hardware for this firmware set...

Re: Reducing Layer Blobs
I have found what i think was the problem. And i am comfident it was the stock hot end . The heatbreak part of the extruder is too big and too much filament was too soft... I am using an E3Dv6 now and these blobs are gone. Not to mention i did use wipe settings, and retract a bit more and faster now...

Re: HIC i3 Calibration
Ill start one. Recently i upgraded to E3Dv6 and bowden. Some online resource said to cut filament flush at end of bowden tube, push 100mm, measure extreuded amount with calipers, and adjust your steps until it matched. Well, im here to tell ya, that doesnt work 100%. I was very under extruded. For e...

Re: Help with a lifting brim, please!
Yes, one thing i have learned is that the first layer matters and its the most important one. No good first layer = failed print! So i print currently over glass.... 2 reasons 1- i use a think layer of glue stick on the glass, and never get any lifting layers 2- the first layer is butter smooth on t...

Re: Uploading/flashing Marlin to your Hic i3 (or other)
Hi Benko I am no expert, as i am still newbie by all means... but i have learned a lot!!! Specially recently when i had to calibrate E steps for my new E3Dv6 hot end i upgraded, along with a bowden setup. I have successfully calibrated now my E steps, and even changed some of the default acceleratio...

Re: Replacement Control Board
glad ur back in business.... i feel the same as you... like i know the stock hictop board "get the job done", but would like to know more about what other alternatives are out there on boards that are better quality. if mines were to fry today, i would likely just buy the same again just t...
