Re: Ultimaker Software News, Cura 3, Cura Connect etc.

Probably asking a lot, but any chance of a Linux install package (deb/rpm)? Even just a tarball that can be plunked into /opt. Makes it much easier to integrate with the desktop. Mainly a lazy ask. I have the git trees cloned, and I can build it myself, including shiny packaging for either flavor. B...

Re: HICTOP - Software

Erm, so what is the purpose of this post??? All I see is links to a blog site with Amazon purchase icons. No source, no documentation, just mostly sales pitches for various different printers on Amazon. And I am pretty sure Chip knows exactly what printer controller he has (and printer for that matt...

Re: Decent prints at last!

So, I bit the bullet and let it run for 28 hours printing this . Here is the result: Dice Tower.jpg I put a quarter on the bed for scale. This particular build has some issues. First, the gate is notorious for not working (mine is fused to the body - need a heated blade to clean it). The real issues...

Re: My 74 hour print...

Very nice. I don't think I would be able to leave mine alone for that long. Almost failed on a 28 hour print (out of filament alert - still had several meters on the spool and no feed issues).

Re: Automatic shutdown mods

My understanding when reading up on this is that is for controlling an ATX power supply. If you are looking to control the standard Hictop power, you will need a relay on AC, and a separate power source for the control board via USB (Octopi would do).

Re: Marlin 1.1.5

Did you post your Configuration*.h files somewhere? I'd like to update my 3DP-17 (~1.1.0-RC8 ish) without going through all of the needed changes (again).

BTW, this was on draft quality. The layer lines show up more in the photo than they do IRL.

AMOLEN Marble Color PLA

I bought a sample 225G roll of Marble filament to see how it looked. Not bad. First print on my CR-10S, no complaints. Printed at 200c, Bed 60c (have to use a glue stick currently), Layer Height .2, 20% infill. Sorry, forgot to put my US quarter next to it for scale, but it is ~5x1x4.4 CM (so miniat...

Decent prints at last!

I'm getting decent prints now from my CR-10S. Still have an issue with bed adhesion, but I am starting to think this is environmental, not printer related. Works great as long as I use a glue stick on my mirror surface. Currently printing parts for my 3DP-17, to bring it up to snuff. I'm printing a ...

Re: Ugh

I think the only thing that kept it from getting worse was that the sample spool ran out sometime during the print. Oddly enough, the filament sensor was not detecting it, or at least Octoprint failed to notice (although I thought the printer would halt regardless). Well, back to cleaning. Head is c...
