Thanks
I presented one to the winner of Poker on Sunday night, he was over the moon to win it.
I put an M16 bolt inside to give them some weight, it made a big difference

Print distorted by the alcohol.
I sometimes leave my prints in the alcohol for a while before I clean them with a brush and take them out to be cured, usually only a few hours, or at most a day. I 3D printed a small bracket and left it in the alcohol over the weekend, when I took it out it was all distorted: Photo 10-7-23, 15 36 1...

Re: Good on one side, blurry opposite site
I'm guessing it's the side with supports that isn't the best quality.
I've done a similar shaped part with text and placed it flat on the bed, it turned out perfect.
The support side is never the best, are you able to get it without supports?

Re: Coffee Chat 2023
I'm making prototype for work and 3 frog trophies for a club for there fiesta competitions. Best at Poker, best at Padel, and finally best drunk.
It's a club of young lads if you hadn't guessed. I'm enjoying making the trophies as I have a free hand.
I'll post fotos when they are finished.

Re: Ratio of cross section areas for sufficient unsticking strength?
Yes splitting it in 2 is an option, don't forget to leave a small gap between the parts otherwise they might not go together.

Re: Ratio of cross section areas for sufficient unsticking strength?
OK, this is a tricky part to print and end up with what you need. The normal approach would be to print it with the large area on the build plate and add supports to the small overhang. The problem with this is that small area that overhangs would not have a good finish. I don't know how big it is, ...

Re: Ratio of cross section areas for sufficient unsticking strength?
I don't think there is any ratio as such. I've always found that as long as you have a large area on the build plate and no large increased areas in printing it should be fine. I had to print a part 4 times, exact part, print number 3 failed, all I was left with was the supports, the rest of the pri...

Re: Coffee Chat 2023
Finally got my PC upgraded to Windows 10. I can now use Cura version 5.
Just got a lot of little things to sort out now.
I just wish I could use Linux, but Solidworks wants Windows..................
I'm working on trophies for the local fiesta, I get to use my new Saturn 2 for this

Re: Coffee Chat 2023
I have been trying to upgrade my PC to windows 10, I've been on it a week now and still can't get it to upgrade, Windows 10 just keeps failing after many hours of trying. I'm quite happy with Windows 7 but I'm forced to upgrade...........
