Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
You guys really made it hard to get rid of that "feature" :-) I suggest to move it into the printer type profiles as a separate string. That way you can save the regex magic and it profiles should ship with that value set to "". Where can I file such an enhancement request? Yeah...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
I noticed that, but it is an additional manual task. Where does Cura get that prefix from? From the printer profile files? Maybe it would be possible to set the prefix there to an empty string? It actually does a bunch of string magic regex to come up with that (based on the name of the machine). S...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
When I save the g-code, Cure 2.1 adds a "UM2_" to the name of the g-code file. Is there a way to disable this? It is wasting three characters in the printer display - which unfortunately does not scroll left and right if a file name is longer - and seems to not provide any real value. The...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
We don't have a dev licence with apple (We're still an untrusted source ;)) This is also my personal account, but I do get the point (It's a bit weird how all of this work, as I both worked on Cura/Uranium as a employee of Ultimaker and on a personal note). My frustration is based on our very bad ex...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
2.1 won't have any drastic / major changes (we want it to be stable above all. We learned from 15.06 )
I honestly have no idea how it works with OSX. It's the OS I avoid like the plague as it seems to have an undying hatred of developers.

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
I played a bit with it and have additional questions... [*] Where do I need to put my own post-processing scripts? (Equivalent of ~/.cura/plugins directory in 'old' Cura)[/list] Couldn't find the equivalent of the old 'Cut of object bottom'. You can now play with the vertical blue arrow, but you can...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
We don't use QT for rendering of the build plate. Thats all direct openGL calls.

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
I used the easy answer as we had exactly the same problem on one of our testing machines, where updating the drivers helped. You guys are right that just because it fixed it there, doesn't mean its always the solution.

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
In my typical workflow I just change a couple of parameters, and these are the ones I would set visible. But then I have 2 different use cases: - I want to change a specific parameter for a specific print -> I need know to go into the visibility menu, set it visible and the change it, remove it fro...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
What strikes me is that it is much slower. The auto-slicing never bothered me much, but now it is 2-3 times slower and it starts to be annoying. Only the layer view is slower in processing. Rendering is much faster. Slicer itself is somewhat slower, because we handle way more edge cases better (whi...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
Oh right, that you can do. Just let your Ultimaker printer inherit from dual extrusion fdm printer. Then it should be very easy to do this.

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
Seems like they plan 2.1 to be an "Ultimaker-Forum"-Edition - big hype, new outfit, but a step back in functionality :-( I will then de-install the beta again and not even bother testing it and rather stick with 15.04 for the near future. Eh. No. The functionality is still there. It's not...
