The time-out got increased to 30 seconds. We're also working on a fix so that files that are only slightly to big won't be auto-scaled (https://github.com/Ultimaker/Uranium/pull/158)
Soo yeaa we do listen

Re: Cura Type A
A json file would be fine, it would just be a more user friendly way to do it, to show that the software is ment to be used with different printers, many users are uncomfortable with changing stuff in software directories, and some times they are not even allowed to do so because of policys of thei...

Re: Cura Type A
As a compromise, would it be a reasonable idea to add a "import printer profile" button to the "Add Machine Wizard" to make it easier to import custom printer profiles? With the idea of that the printer profile you import gets permanently added to the Wizard under the section &q...

Re: Cura Type A
I haven't tried the new Cura...I've opted to play it safe with what I know works for me....but can the new one allow a user to save profiles for different filaments? Yes, that's usually 4 or 5 setting changes, but it would be really handy. Yes. The 2.2 version even improves on this; That even allow...

Re: Cura Type A
So, there are now five different Cura? Where does this lead to? This is one of the reasons why we started Cura 2.x. The old cura is really difficult to fork, change layout and then still push changes back into main (due to hard-coded layout stuff). New Cura does not suffer from this. It even has th...

Re: Cura Type A
I think their material profiles only change 3-4 settings. Looks like a lot, but isn't really. Lulzbot also has a fuckton of profiles.
I've sent this to our engine guy, so he can have a look how easy it is to back port the 3d infill into our Cura.

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
Ok so I've downloaded the new Cura and loaded a simple file to test and check :-) And in the bottom right corner it says "Preparing to slice..," And it's been like that for five minutes  I've rebooted the computer but no joy, so it's back to the previous version untill I can find the...

Re: How to port a postprocessor to new cura
Yeah that's probably a better idea. Not sure if our script right now handles that correctly, but we should look into it.

Re: How to port a postprocessor to new cura
Reporting it is always a good idea. If you have issues, report them on github. I'm the only Cura dev that reads this forum (and i'm very prone to forget things)

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta
The undo stuff is broken, but due to wanting to release things, we had to make decisions on what to fix (and what not to). I think we already fixed the undo / redo stack for 2.2
Re: Profiles?
In 2.2 the profile stuff will be reworked.
In it's current state the profiles are a bit weird. Especially for materials.

Re: How to port a postprocessor to new cura
They are completely different. There was no way do it in such a way that we could keep plugin/script implementation the same.
Actually writing the plugin so that it works for post processing shouldn't be that hard though.

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta and Octoprint
It is in the printer definition. We need nallath to confirm, but my understanding is that for this beta you cannot change it form the UI, so you need to change in the printer definition file, or better make a new one (very easy with the 'inherit' cabability). Yup :) This is also why we added the in...

Re: Cura 2.1 open beta and Octoprint
I can give some information on how we envision some bits to work. Some of you might have noticed that there is a doodle3D plugin for Cura 2.1. This is a plugin of the "outputDevice" type. What it does is scan for devices (or start any connection, much like USB Printing) and if a connection...
