Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

Beatles fan, @jonnybischof ? ;-) Not my cup of tea at all. I need stronger stuff :) I'm curious how bad that resin smells. A friend of mine couldn't wait to have a Duplicator 7 and when he opened the first bottle of resin, it made him physically ill. His wife as asthma so he wouldn't allow her to c...

Re: 3d printer with auto ejection & web queue

Looks cool!

I don't really see much of a need for this as a single - personal user. But anywhere where there are multiple - and remote - users this is awesome. Like universities and makerspaces / fablabs.

Now all you need is an automated spool loader so that you can remotely change colors :)

Haha, I know the feeling. Perfectionism is the engineer's bane...

I finally got that S3D license. Looks pretty nice so far, but it takes a few prints to get into it I guess.

Re: Ultimaker Software News, Cura 3, Cura Connect etc.

I do my own support about 70% of the time. It doesn't matter who designed it but usually I'm the designer. I don't think it's only 1% of people who print their own prints . I guess we all think everyone else is just like ourselves. Which is actually a healthy attitude. I expect it's at least 80% of...

That link doesn't work anymore btw.

www.WhereNerdyIsCool.com does.
It's a simple but cool page! Not too much clutter and stuff you have to care about, only content. :)

Re: What's good with higher temps and won't warp like crazy?

Seems you posted that while everyone was in summer break :P So far I have only printed PLA (99%), some ABS that I hated and will not ever print again, and Colorfabb XT which I personally like a lot and makes for very strong printed parts - but I hardly ever print it because it requires very high tem...

Re: So many issues...

Suppose there's a reason why they go through revisions so quickly...
I would try to return it and get my money back. This kit seems to be fishy. Just from that last pic one can guess that the engineer behind it didn't really know what he was doing.

Re: How much should a good 3D printer cost?

Maybe they prefer to sell you more PVA instead of more PLA? ;)

/edit:
Btw, I found lots of "MUST PRINT" thingies today which will be very difficult to print without good supports. One more reason to get into that asap. But my CNC is still not up and running, so much stuff to do first -.-

Re: How much should a good 3D printer cost?

About dual extrusion: I think it's a very interesting thing for people making mechanical pieces. You can either mix two different kind of plastics (like flexible and rigid) or have soluble supports which is pretty much a must have for any professionals / engineers. Just yesterday I spent around 20 m...
