Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I deleted >100 posts manually since I couldn't close whole threads. I don't know if this is a phpBB issue though ;-)

Re: 3D printer for Middle School education, which one?

Ultimaker 2+ is a good recommendation I would say due to their reliability. You have fairly low operating cost since you can use any 2.85mm filament and get replacement parts fairly easy. I would maybe add a acrylic door to it, there is a number of designs for such doors on Thingiverse and Youmagine...

Re: Simple 3D Printer mainboard for a filament joiner?

I haven't used the fuser much since completing the hardware and Arduino code and have therefor no pictures of it in action. I haven't even had the time to design a nice case for the electronics. The actual hotend hardware I used is the one described here: https://3dprinting.com/how-to/fuse-filament-...

Re: Yellow PLA in smaller quantities than usual 750g spools?

I am looking for 2.85. Loose or spool is both fine. If I look at PrintedSolid, the say for samples: Samples are made up ahead of time, so if you order two samples, you will receive two samples and not one long sample. That would mean I need to do a number of welds to weld the ends of the samples. Do...

Do they sell loose filament? Couldn't find anything on their web site.

Re: Yellow PLA in smaller quantities than usual 750g spools?

I saw that some companies seem to have 250g rolls but that might be a little too tight and the price on these rolls is close to what a 750g spool would cost me. Ideal would be a source that sells loose filament by the meter. Faberdashery seems to still offer that but I haven't heard their name in a ...

Yellow PLA in smaller quantities than usual 750g spools?

I need yellow PLA colors for a few prints where I do not think that I will ever use a full 750g spool but need more than the usual 50g samples.

Is there a manufacturer that sells smaller quantities? I would need ~26 meter or ~260 gram.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I am not sure I would have donated (the same amount) if I would have known that you want to go the Ultimaker Forum route with eye candy and social media integration :-(
That is not what I want from this forum.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I would rather say I am contributing to a very nerdy plane spotter tool :-) If you run a receiver for them, you get a free FR24 Business Subscription which gives you more filters and stuff. I like to use their site to check if the plane, that serves the flight I am currently waiting for, is on time ...

Re: Garden Hose Adapter

If watertight is a requirement, I would go for a 100% infill - especially if it is such a small part.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I finally found the time to setup my own receiver for Flightradar24! I did some testing first with the small antenna that came with the DVB-T stick from my office and got already signals from 10-15 planes in a range of ~40 km. I then printed a antenna mount for the dedicated 1090 MHz antenna and a w...

Re: Garden Hose Adapter

Have you tried annealing the PLA print? You need to do some testing to find out how to compensate for the shrinking of the print during the annealing process, but afterwards it should be denser and maybe more water tight.
