Re: How can I choose the best 3D Printers for Miniatures?
If miniatures is all you are printing, then yes, get a smaller printer. I printed some really nice pieces with my Hictop 3DP17. But I printed better ones on my CR-10S (larger printer but better quality - except for bridging). This was printed using coffee filament on my 3DP17: bookshelf1.jpg These w...

Re: Raspberry Pi Cluster
The red box is the cluster master, the green boxes are the slaves (or whatever is PC these days), and the black box is the 5 port POE switch. The fan is a USB powered desk fan and it keeps the entire rack cool enough.

He who has the most printers in life, wins.
Kind of like in woodworking; you can never have too many clamps.

Re: Repair or replace clogged nozzle?
That looks like a first layer height adjustment issue. The layer height test prints that I do prints a box in each corner, then fills it in with lines. If the print head is at the perfect height, the lines blend together and it ends up with the bottom as smooth as glass. With the head too high, I ge...

And this is one example of why I use Linux in most everything I do. I have a dozen systems running Linux in the house, and I can remotely log into them from anywhere in the world (after connecting through VPN to my Linux firewall). My server has 8-4TB drives in a raid 10 configuration (speed over st...

Re: Ripples in the surface layer of my prints, Help!
What infill density are you currently using. I'd recommend at least 30-40%. Also, you should add more surface layers. You could also enable ironing mode if you are using one of the latest versions of Cura (not the one that comes with the CR10 - get it here).

Another option is the Creality Ender. For precision, you can get a smaller head (0.2mm), but I'd stick with the stock at first (0.4mm) until you know you need better precision.

Can't wait to see the final shelf. Not the print, but one of her finished units.

You may not be able to share the stl files, but you can share the final pictures and even a finished shelf. Helps promote her product.

Re: MINTEMP Error help needed - Destroyed my hot end!
Not sure if your display looks like mine, but mine always shows the temp of the hot end and the bed. Try gently pulling the thermistor out of the hot end and just holding it between your fingers, see if the temperature registers. If it doesn't, then you have a bad thermistor. They're very delicate a...
