Re: Selection of part in Creality Slicer
Ok, it took a bit, but I got it running on my Linux system (yea, I know it is a Windows app). This looks like a hack of an early Cura release. As a test, I loaded the Raspberry Pi Rack case files (5 objects). I was able to select each object individually and move them independently. Are you sure you...

Erm, missing image.
Also, not familiar with that slicer. Most of us use either Cura or Simplify3D.

Re: My Firmware
I haven't had time lately to follow all of the new features. The Pause sounds intriguing though. Would help when changing filaments.
The runout sensor support would only be helpful if it actually sent out a signal via USB when printing from USB (something Octoprint, Cura, etc. could glom onto).

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 and Octoprint?
Not sure if it will boot directly, but there is no reason you can't have the boot loader on SD and boot to USB as the root device. In fact, I used to test this on TI Omap4 Pandaboards when I was doing Arm enablement work for Canonical (Ubuntu). I'd have to study up on the Pi 4 boot paths. It would b...

Re: OctoPi produces weak prints
Try just disabling Octolapse. I disabled it on my setup a while ago, (can't remember when), and haven't experienced any real issues recently. Sorry, I don't have better input on this, just my experience. As to power, I am using the authentic Pi power supply. Had numerous issues with using high amp c...

Re: New resin printer
I was thinking about getting an SLS printer soon. I know the quality is 10x better especially for smaller detailed figures. How bad is the smell of the resin? That would be my limiter, as it would be in my converted (hijacked) dining room with my other 3D printers.

Re: Begginer
Looks like a Hictop 3DP-18, I think. Very similar to my 3DP-17, except using the acrylic frame instead of the 2020 aluminum (was a cost savings measure I think). Roberts_Clif is the local expert on Hictop and Marlin firmware. He would be the best one to get the latest firmware from. You might poke a...

Raspberry Pi Cluster
So, I have a RPI Kubernetes cluster now. Built as a learning tool for work. 4 systems, using Raspberry PI 4B 2G systems, Power Over Ethernet (POE) Hats for each, and a 5 port 1G POE switch. All cases and the rack they're going in were 3D printed over a few days on my CR-10S. I'm still working out a ...

Re: Prusa I3 or Ender 3
It sounds like either a bad connection to the stepper motor, bad stepper motor, or (worst case) bad mainboard. It can be easily fixed if you have some basic skills.

Re: Bad power supply. I think.
Always good to have a spare.
Seriously, don't junk your old printer. $40 is really a low cost to get it working again (hopefully). Best case, you now have two printers for your ongoing projects. Worst case, lost time and a little money (cost of 2 spools of filament).

Re: Which printer to get?
I have a CR-10S (Hictop branded), and have had very little issues with it that I couldn't resolve (had a couple of hotend choke blobs, but Hictop makes a cheap replacement kit that is as simple as 4 screws and 2 cable plugs). There are a LOT of users out there, so getting help shouldn't be a problem...

Re: Bad power supply. I think.
You could probably convert a standard ATX PC powersupply to meet your needs. They're very inexpensive. Just make sure the power rating on 5v is what you need. Not sure exactly as I don't have any information on the Makerbot series (other than what I watched in the documentary on Netflix).

Re: I need to fix these bumps on my print.
Try a smaller layer height. I print with .2mm as standard, and smaller for finer detail (.16 for fine, .12 for super detail). You might also want to lower your speed. I print at 50mm/s with wall speed of 25mm/s.
