Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Anyone able to access Ultimakers forum? For the past days I always get "504 Gateway Time-out"...the only way I can access it is by using a different browser where I am not logged in. But then I can't post...and report the problem... I mentioned it on Twitter to Ultimaker a week ago when it...

... But to quote the phpBB forum "why would you need SSL for a BBS?" Just don't use the same account login as you do for your banks and other more critical information (duh). As "dumb" as this sounds, but I completely agree... https doesn't mean your data is secure. Just that th...

Re: Cura 3.0 beta
Dim3nsioneer I have seen that "feature" mentioned several times...never tried it though...but that sounds really complicated compared to the point-and-click to place manual support like you can do in S3D. The feature list in Cura [23].x is impressive...and growing fast...but the UX leaves...

Re: Cura 3.0 beta
 I do like that Cura has stepped up and shows great progress after being "stale" for quite some time. But even as a somewhat experienced user I am put off by the complexity of the UI in Cura [23].x. I liked the simplicity of 15.04...and it's advanced mode...but I also felt that it was...

There is an excellent post in the UM forum about just that that no one has commented on yet

Yes, it sounds like a very good initiative
I try to fix most of my family’s stuff still.
I don’t like that we are in a buy-use?-throwaway world

Is there something like Repair Cafe in Stockholm? Never heard of it...sounds interesting though 🙂 The closest I found seems to be in Gothenburg and they seem to have a few select occasions in Stockholm: http://www.stockholmsfria.se/kalendarium/131233 Maybe Meduza knows if something similar exists i...

Re: Ultimaker Software News, Cura 3, Cura Connect etc.
I don't create any support myself...I rely on S3D to do the job...with some manual touches. I'd say it takes care of probably 80% of the cases when I need support without me having to touch it...and the remaining 20% it can handle too. Yes, creating my own support would probably cut down print time ...

Re: Ultimaker Software News, Cura 3, Cura Connect etc.
I'd say it's important even for a hobbyist. When/If I use Cura today I use 15.04...that's the one version that is easy to understand. Just because there is a need for a gazillion options doesn't mean that all have to be easily accessible (and hidden). That's where "preferences" and "m...

Me neither, but Simplify3D needs competition...and one day I might switch (living on hope)

"Updated interface. You’ll notice a clearer look and feel, plus choosing your settings is now more intuitive"
That sounds promising at least since the current way was/is a nightmare.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Do you know a good, not huge, model that can be used to fine tune retraction settings?
I'm pretty happy with my S3D profiles but when I print certain retraction heavy models I tend to experience some under extrusion throughout those layers.
