Hi LePaul are you on commission from these people. ;-)
It sounds too good to be true.

Re: Assembling a CR-10 - Any "gotchas" to be aware of?

I've used it a few times and it didn't smell that bad. I have it in the garage anyway.
Did your friend use ABS on one of these polyprop sheets?

Hi LePaul
These look better than the ones I suggested.
Have you used them with ABS?

Re: Assembling a CR-10 - Any "gotchas" to be aware of?

Hi I used tape and hair spray on the bed. It works OK but get messy. I bought these sheets to stick on the bed instead of tape, for PLA they work great, you don't use anything else. They are OK'ish with ABS, it depends on the size of the print, better with smaller parts. I would recommend sticking t...

I have played around a little with FreeCad and also Onshape, both are free, Onshape is a lot more powerful.
Try the ones suggested and see which you find the easiest to use for you. You can always change to a more "powerful/less easy to use" later.

Re: Cura 3.6.0

My main PC is a HP workstation, Xeon with 8 cores 32 GB ram. Solidworks runs great on this, Cura takes an age to load.
Yes they need to speed it up.

Re: Creality 10s pro

Hi I don't know if it helps but I have a Folger FT5 and I connected it with my windows 7 PC OK. When I moved the printer I tried to use my laptop that has windows 10, it wouldn't connect. I could get Linux to see the printer. It may be a Windows 10 problem, I never investigated it. I now use Octopri...

Re: Large Lego man

Hi GrueMaster & LePaul thanks. I am pleased how it worked out. I made the models so I didn't have to use supports, the only part that had supports was the Hips. I printed at 40mm/sec at 0.1mm steps. The Folger FT5 doesn't have nozzle cooling, I had the bed at 60°C for the first layer then droppe...

Large Lego man

I was hoping to get this printed in time for Christmas, but the printer went down and I have only recently got it running again. This is twice the size as a Lego man. I am pleased how it's turned out. It's for my 4 year old grandson Max. I had to have 2 goes at it as I made the model with clearance ...

Re: FT-5 Wiring tips

On the subject of wiring, I had a problem with the motor for the hotend. It turned out the cable had a slight break in it so it would work OK for some of the time. After I realised the problem I ordered a new cable, I could only get it from China as it's 1.5 metres long. After installing the new cab...

Re: Printer missing parts

I sometime get the LCD displaying garbage. I just simple press the button to select something and it all comes back.
It's good to know other people are "having fun" as well ;-)

Re: Printer missing parts

I was doing another print with different settings and it helped a bit, until the print stopped 75% finished with an Thermal runway error.
Printer is in bits awaiting a new cable. Problem was the cable to the extruder, well I hope that was the problem.

Re: Folger FT5 feed problem

Hi I stripped down the wiring from the Hotend. This involves taking the printer out of the housing, not an any task. I checked the wiring on the motor and it seemed Ok. After taking it out of the flexible ducting checking it again it was OK. I wrapped insulation tape around the outside to help prote...

Re: Folger FT5 feed problem

Hi Paul Yes I am up against it, very frustrated. It's my turn to have all the problems. I have the stock extruder/hot end and I have the spool up high in the middle. I have had problems with the spool unwinding, but I think I have that cured now, with a bit of string!!! This unfortunately isn't the ...

I think it is connected to the post in the large printers: Folger FT5 feed problem.
Thanks
