Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
It is fun. I am active in the one in my hometown near Stuttgart. We meet once a month to help people that come with their items. It is amazing what people bring and what percentage can still be repaired. On some events we had auccess rates of over 70%! Götteborg is a little too far to travel with a ...

Why don't you design your parts already with the supports?

Re: Measure in STL files
I have downloaded the free for home use version of Autodesk Netfabb and it's measuring capabilities seem to be what I need. They could be a little bit more intuitive, but I think that goes for the whole Netfabb

Measure in STL files
Every time I need modify 3D models where I only have STL files, I find it extremely difficult to "measure" stuff like distances and angles. If I import the STL in Fusion 360, I can use Inspect but it does not really "snap" to the right places and so I get very unreliable measurem...

Re: Issues with print job when retracting.
Since you mention that the printer hasn't been used for a longer time: Has the filament been stored dry? Maybe you have moisture in your filament and that produces these extrusion issues. Gently drying the filament could help then.

Re: First time owner, need advice
In general AWG12 wire is AWG12 wire, so you could use the speaker wire as it is the same gauge. Just make sure that you are not near any hot parts with the speaker wire. If you need to be close to hot parts, e.g. a heated bed, then wires with silicon insulation are better.

Re: Simple 3D Printer mainboard for a filament joiner?
It is surprising how little modification is needed to convert the Adafruit Sous Vide cooker code example to a working filament fuser code  I used the Sous_Viduino code from Adafruit as a starting as it has a menu, PID and storage for set values and uses the RGB backlight version of the monochro...

Re: Simple 3D Printer mainboard for a filament joiner?
I finally managed to convert the ideas that I had collected over (too many) months into an Arduino shield to drive the filament fuser! The shield has a 12V input, an optional 12V to 5V step-down converter to drive the 5V part without the need of an USB connection and the necessary parts to drive the...

Re: Suddenly my SD card isn't read by my printer
The card that came with my UM2 also was not readable anymore suddenly some weeks ago. Since I always used two cards interchangeable, I just continued with the remaining one and threw the other away... maybe I should have tried this tool

Re: Whose good with CAD? Mount for UM2 printhead
The problem is that only if you have the exact measurements of the mounting points you could create a CAD for it. So you need to at least provide a 2D drawing with some measurements for the holes and such before somebody could look into this. But I agree with Neotko, there is no better way to learn ...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
If Amazon delivers as promised, I will be busy outdoors tomorrow: The key switch on my electric garage door opener decided to break and the door went up & down erratically. Now I have to replace the whole thing. I thought I could fix the old one but the lousy micro switches inside just felt apar...
