Re: Original Prusa i3 MK2 review

Cool! Curious to see your results. I wonder if the Bowden performs comparably to the direct drive...

Or use thinner layers.

Re: Coast at End

Say what... That might explain why I've been getting terrible blobs in some prints after retractions. :-o

Edit: Are you sure it extrudes extra filament when unretracting to compensate for coasting? Not according to this post on the s3d forum (bottom of the first post).

Why the separation for the skirt? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Re: Gaps in mid-layer

At what temperature are you printing? When I had issues like this it turned out I had set it way too low for the speed I was printing at.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I don't think we've ever had more than 15 cm of snow here... And even then it's a mess. Public transport basically shuts down, people suddenly forget how to drive, etc.

Re: Simplify3d basic guide

Are you perhaps using multiple processes? I've had issues before where I thought I changed some setting but midway through a print discovered it wasn't right, only to find out I had changed it only in 1 process in stead of all of them.

Do you still have the same print area? It almost looks as though the print head would collide with those rods..?

Re: Cura Feature request: Infill Height

The only issue I see is that it would need 2 layers printed without infill to 'hang-on-to'. That could make really weird overhangs. Ofc this is totally doable on S3D, just making 2 processes, one without infill 0.1 and other eith just infill 0.3. I done this, without changing layer height ofc, and ...

Re: Overhangs with sharp corners

I dropped the temp in steps of 5 °C and eventually settled on 185 °C. I don't really dare dropping it any lower. The corners still curl up a little bit, but it's much much better than before.

Overhangs with sharp corners

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble when I try to print stuff with overhangs that have sharp corners or small edges in general. They tend to curl up a lot, making the overhangs look pretty bad. Longer edges print just fine. For example I tried to print this christmas tree . IMG_20161223_221223.jpg If ...
