Re: Interior structures not printing

SpaceClaim. It's a professional direct modeling software, comparatively low price ~3000$ (half of what SolidWorks would cost) but absolutely genius workflow. I am privileged to be able to use it at my workplace. Its free counterpart would be 'DesignSpark Mechanical', which is basically an early vers...

... But to quote the phpBB forum "why would you need SSL for a BBS?" Just don't use the same account login as you do for your banks and other more critical information (duh). As "dumb" as this sounds, but I completely agree... https doesn't mean your data is secure. Just that th...

Re: Interior structures not printing

I started with Sketchup as well. Looking at Cura's X-Ray view to find errors and then fix them in Sketchup is a great way to learn how to avoid them! By the way: I found that - unless the interior structures serve a certain purpose (which they usually don't if they're completely interior) - just des...

Re: Interior structures not printing

cura xray.png Here's the problem (X-Ray view in Cura shows model problems). There are colliding surfaces inside of your model. You could use the "fix errors" functions in Cura (don't know the newer versions, maybe someone else can help with details on this), but I would strongly suggest f...

Re: Cura 3.0 beta

I think such an import would be hugely popular...it makes it easier to get someone into Cura importing their S3D settings Assuming that both S3D and Cura setting files are ASCII text files, this is a pretty basic "reformat a text file" task that can be done outside of Cura / S3D (and in b...

Re: First Lithophane

Seeing these always makes me want to grab a Dremel and do some Plexiglas etching :)
One of the first things I'm gonna do on my CNC (when and if it might actually finally ever be built and work) will be a 3D engraving in 10mm Plexiglas with RGB lighting... *dreams*

Re: Lithopane generation suggestions

Cura (at least old Cura) can make lithopanes from pictures! You just have to open a picture file ("load model file" -> enable all file types, or just drag&drop the jpg into Cura) and you get the lithopane wizard (simple thing, but I found it to work quite well). cura 15046 lithopane.png

Re: Cpc 1.03 error 33

If my Google search was halfway right, I think you're talking about a printer (that prints ink on paper), and not a 3D-printer (that makes 3-dimensional plastic parts), right?

You might get lucky, but this forum is usually just about plastic 3D-printing stuff ;)

Hearing Dutch parents talk at their misbehaving children is just priceless (when you're German). Gotta love that language :)

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

Most western Europe countries teach kids more than one language in school. But yeah, there's too many to learn them all. If you're in a major european tourist area, German is almost as useful as English :P

Repetier FW

Anyone using Repetier? Yesterday I downloaded it using their online configurator tool, but it won't compile yet. I suppose there is an empty variable, but didn't have the time to debug yet. There are many settings which are different from Marlin. Would be interesting to hear from someone who has alr...

Finally got that RADDS hooked up to a few motors and sensors because I want to try out my printhead prototype. Can't get the Repetier FW to compile yet (I hate Arduino), but maybe later this day...
