Re: Is a CR-10 a good printer for beginners?
First, let me start by saying I did not mean to offend you in any way. You asked for our opinions, I provided one. As you are the admin, feel free to delete it. Second, I just watched the video start to finish for the 3rd time, full screen. I saw a warehouse full of Tevo Taranulas being prep'd for s...

Re: Is a CR-10 a good printer for beginners?
Sorry, looked like a couple of dishes when viewing on my tablet. Back home on my 24" monitor, now I see the difference. Still, you don't show your CR-10 at all. IMO, it is better to actually feature the printer you are reviewing. Kind of like Apple fans degrading Android when they have never us...

Re: Is a CR-10 a good printer for beginners?
Might have wanted more of your printers in the background, especially the CR-10. Having only the Ultimaker, next to a stack of dishes and other clutter doesn't come across as well.

Print dimensions are not as advertised
After retuning my 3DP-17 and loading it with purple filament (wife's choice), I wanted to print something that would look good in purple (meeples doesn't do it for me), so I printed a spiral vase. Cura autoscaled it down 70% to fit this printer (220x270x200 according to the included documentation). ...

Re: new board for 3dp 12 (3dp11)
Everything should be the same, but since there are no open hardware logs for this particular reprap board, it is hard to know the differences. Try a google search for MKS Base v1.5. Interesting results.

Re: Cura vs Simplify3D Facebook Poll....
So, as promised, I looked at your tube w/ 8 ears in Blender, and yes the ears are separated by a zero face. Like one was imported and copied, then slid into place by hand w/o merging the edges. Older Cura will handle this, to a fault. I have a few models where it 'helpfully' fixed the mesh, thus sea...

Anyone seen the Palette+ in action?
In a word, awesome! If it works as well as the few reviews on amazon, this would be great.

Re: Cura vs Simplify3D Facebook Poll....
Question? Has anyone determine how this sort of slicing errors occur or how to correct the models? It is likely the original STL file has unmerged vertices. If the original was created with simple extruded shapes, there could be hidden faces where the ears meet the center section. I'll look at the ...

On end, good tip. I do use 100% infill. I also need to adjust the thickness.

Turned out a little thick, but still looks good with backlight.

Re: Lithopane generation suggestions
Well, nevermind. I did a little more digging on Instructables, and found one using S3D. So, since I am a Cura fan, I thought I'd try it. Looks Awesome!!! At least the rendering looks great. Will have to try different picture settings. 7 hours for a 110x80x11mm print is a bit much. Little too much de...

Lithopane generation suggestions
I've been wanting to try taking some of my photos and converting them to lithopanes. I've seen a few different techniques on Instructables and other sites, but so far nothing has worked for me. Has anyone tried making these from scratch? I prefer Linux based solutions, but am partially open to Windo...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
My brief visit to Amsterdam was quite interesting. Had an overnight layover before flying home. Since I only know two languages (English and bad English), I thought I might have a problem finding the hostel that a friend had booked. Biggest issue were the dictionary sized street names. But I was abl...
