Re: Fusion360
I use Fusion 360 for most all of my designs, it has been my go-to cad software for about 18 months now: https://www.youmagine.com/meduza/designs

Re: Ultimaker Original+ Extended custom build at Stockholm Makerspace
LePaul: The CPU Cooler on the right side has a embedded temp sensor and a 300W heater cartridge, it is there to supply extra heat to make it a true temperature controlled heated chamber instead of just a enclosed printer :-) I'll start a new thread for the Ultimonster as soon as we get to that proj...

Re: PTFE coupler - Theory and practical details
Yes PEEK is more like 370 degrees, it would take a all new hotend design. I would also like to print PEI, that is also in the 350+ degree range.
Both are quite expensive as filament, but in some applications it could be worth it.

Re: Ultimaker Original+ Extended custom build at Stockholm Makerspace
Some people at the makerspace suggested that we should post it with on the UM forum with just a picture and the text "thanks for the prototype, it works really well"... But yes, it looks really nice and it feels very much like it could have been a official Ultimaker. Our next project...

The build moves forward, now we got the longer axis and the longer Z-screw mounted

I would love a @mention addon, so you can get a notification when you are tagged in a post, that is one of the things that i like about the new ultimaker forums.

@Anders Olsson: It is about 7,5cm outside diameter, and the "extrusion width" is about 6mm.

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
XT-CF20 can look really nice with some sanding and light burnishing of the surface with a smooth metal tool, almost like it was injection molded!

Re: Modified UM original
I have posted some more info about our Ultimaker Original+ Exended here: http://www.3dprintingforum.us/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=49, but you could summarize it just like Anders said, "Because we could" :D I really like transparent 3D-printers, even though I realize that hiding cables and mot...

Re: Oh my... Filaments from beer, hemp and biomass
Colorfabb's WoodFill is quite nice as long as you never leave it hot in the nozzle, since if you do it will carbonize and clog the nozzle horribly in no time at all. I printed a case for a friend that needed to blend into a piece of MDF furniture, and after some sanding it was really blending in wel...

Re: Temperature analysis of PVA and Bridge Nylon
Haha, i finally used up my old spool by printing a lot of my UM2 power supply holders (https://www.youmagine.com/designs/a-bet ... ply-holder) for Stockholm Makerspace with a 0.6mm nozzle, thick layers and not caring about the surface finish :p

Metal 3D Printing with a CNC controlled MIG Welder
I just have to show this picture of a experiment a friend of mine did a few weeks ago (yes i have sent him a invitation to this forum), with a MIG welder attached to a 3 axis CNC plasma table :-) The leaning of the left/back wall is not a mistake but a test of slight overhang performance. https://ww...

Ultimaker Original+ Extended custom build at Stockholm Makerspace
Hello everyone :-) @Anders-Olsson already showed this picture in another thread, but we are right now building a custom Ultimaker Original+ Extended at Stockholm Makerspace, it is built from a official UMO+ kit with some custom mods. The height is 100mm higher than the standard model, we lasercut th...
