Re: Show off My latest Print
For the gun, a really cool thing to do could be this: http://www.3ders.org/articles/20160211-shape-optimization-3d-printing-method-produces-unlikely-but-not-impossible-3d-printed-objects.html Ofc since there's no app that does that, you could do an approximation, this way the gun could spin on the h...

Re: Titanium
Do you have planned any tungsten disulphide ws2 coating for the nozzles? That should help to have less friction and avoid the slower heat dispersion of the titanium. I did some tests with hotbarrels and got a company in uk that can do coatings quite cheap (around 70€ for each bath, that should cover...

Re: Hand cranked Heart gears
Are you aure your ptfe coupler it's ok? When it starts to die changes size and leaks between the barrel and peek. Check the lower side of the peek and if you see any blackgoo, you need to do an atomic without the coupler and change the coupler. Maybe it's just any number of other stuff.

I sujest you go medieval. Get a cola can, cut it in half. Hammer it flat. And use the can to make a hotend cover so the air never touches the hotend. Then, just blow air with any shroud

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
Lepaul start printing the anders olsson nozzle torque wrench, its really nice to not overdo the nozzles. And yes, any e3d m6 size kind of nozzle fits perfect on umo. https://www.youmagine.com/designs/nozzle-torque-wrench The only m6 that doesn't work are the m6 for makerbot (they are shorter and the...

Share your profile screen by screen on the simplify3d and I'll try to debug it. I did that for many via pm on umo forum, it takes time, but it's quite easy when you remember that you have a gazillion options to change (if you need).

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
Forgot to add. Bridges fan it's on, it's an option on s3d that allows to control the flow and fans for bridges. Quite useful. (Also allows to set a print slowdown if needed for that).

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
Indeed. The flow of carbon it's like cement. It has weight on it. But also, with normal speeds and increased flow on bridges, it can print quite amazing stuff. For small layer heights it get tricky to control imo.

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
I don't use fans also for formfutura carbonfill. Also, for the first layer it use to need a bit more height than normal to avoid having the nozzle full of dirt. If you use fans the nozzle scraches the print easy and drags material. I used very little colorfabb xt, but I preffer formfutura because so...

Re: ColorFabb XT-CF20 Carbon Fiber Filament
The info from Nicolinux on um forum should work just fine. Now that you have the heated bed you essentially have a um2 (worse fan cooling, worse pulleys, more wood vibration) but essentially the same.

Re: Super hard nozzles - Test pilots
Anders, not a kilo, 8 kilos on the beta I have now.
I need to get some free time to run all the top layers pla test again now that my system it's properly calibrated. It's been a pain to fix the china parts (to use 1.75 on umo+), but nothing a good drill can't fix

Simplify3d basic guide
If you start using S3D you MUST read the guide they posted when the 3.x version was launched. https://www.simplify3d.com/support/print-quality-troubleshooting/ It's a bit of a copy of the 3DVerkstan Knowledge Base http://support.3dverkstan.se/article/23-a-visual-ultimaker-troubleshooting-guide But t...
