Re: Noob with Cura - HELP

An Ultimaker 2+ is a gem of a printer. I love mine. However...the stock profile built within Cura has always caused me some grief. I find I have to add some vertical lift otherwise it rubs on print during travel moves. I've had no such troubles with the Ultimaker 3 or S5. I thought perhaps my printe...

Re: Site News...the botched upgrade

I come from the same era! I had a Wildcat! BBS from 1991 right up til 2004 (dropped the phone lines in 96 since everyone went online)

I'm pretty up to date on how all this stuff works, it just isn't a realm I dabble in much more. 3D Printing, slicers, etc is where I spend so much time playing!

Site News...the botched upgrade

Hello... We were a few versions behind on the phpBB software and I tried to do the "simpler" process to complete the upgrade. Not an update...and upgrade. Bigger things! On Sunday it stalled, hung and generally gave "very bad" errors. The php was fine, as was the database. But other files did not fu...

Re: Suddenly my SD card isn't read by my printer

I still encounter this...it seems like the UM2+ can only read so many files, so I have to copy off my old gcodes to my PC, clearing out all that space on the SD Works again!

Progress on the FolgerTech i3 Mega!

There are so many areas about this printer that could be so much better Then I am reminded that it is a $399 first printer kit and that is it's market. But being me, I see areas that could be improved without too much effort and an even better customer experience. The couplers and motors mounted hig...

Re: COVID...stay healthy

I've been so busy printing the Ear Savers for a state-wide Veterans' home group and others. I didn't think I could burn through so much filament in a week, but 5 printers eats it up quick In my efforts to get more printers printing these things... The FT-6 was slated to be re-wired. The stock PCB ho...

Re: Stuttering/inconsistent Z height after flashing

Is it using a proximity sensor or a BL Touch?
Could you detail on the wiring of the ABL you are using? Sounds like it could be anything from electrical noise to the Z limit switch/end stop sensor not plugged in correctly?

Also, did it work before you changed the hot end?

I concur with the above from Gruemaster
Those bulb types were never my favorite and the E3D upgrades to the cartridge type made life so much easier

Re: MINTEMP Error help needed - Destroyed my hot end!

Oh I think we have all made a giant blob once in our 3D printing life...I had a print come off the bed and it attached and kept on going for 7 hours. A heat gun and a lot of careful cleaning ensued! It sounds like you've checked everything...let us know what your testing shows When my CR-10 hotend j...

Re: Buying 3D printer

Possibly the better printers to start with is the Prusa ones, either the kit form or assembled.

If you build from a kit, it is a tremendously rewarding experience and gives many a lot of confidence in their new skill.
