Re: Which config.h file to use?

In order to compile, all the files will be used in its entirety or partially as required by the compiler. I use Visual Studio as the text editor to make the changes and do the compiling. You 'can' use a plain text editor such as notepad++, but still have to have a compiler to finish the project. The...

Re: Ender 5 Plus Not Always Moving Down - Skipping Steps??

as your using a 'splitter' board for powering both Z steppers, you most likely need to increase the current the board is providing. You are running the motors in parallel so the drive current required is now twice what the single stepper was.

Re: Have a problem, need some ideas on how to fix

I use 3B+ boards on my printers and have found that if I move to a designated location when using octolapse, that I get increased stringing. I print in petg and it is enough of a problem as it is. So when using octolapse, I just do the snap at layer change with no move. It helps.

Re: Have a problem, need some ideas on how to fix

Yeh, never figured that Octoprint would be the cause as it was supposedly only reading and spitting out the gcode AND I had the filament senor turned off.

Re: Have a problem, need some ideas on how to fix (Solved)

After more extensive testing and debugging, it ended up being a borked plugin! I had installed the "Enclosure" plugin several years ago to handle filament runout sensing, but had disabled it as it gave to many false trips. Some how it got messed up and caused the problems. Basically cleane...

Re: Which config.h file to use?

I am assuming that your talking about these files in Marlin? If so, when compiled the system will use both of them regardless of what changes you may make. Having said that, there are a ton of options in each of these files that can be changed to suit your needs/desires. You might peruse YouTube to ...

Re: cura not slicing

The shell command in fusion 360 removes all material from the inside and leaves a wall of the thickness you desire. i say apply to the back face as it will remove that face to shell out the rest of the body. You can then slice with supports of your choice. If you slice with it as is, you can set you...

Re: cura not slicing

I have avoided answering this one in your other thread because you are asking for an oxymoron! Remove material, but not provide support! If you remove material, it won't be supported and you state you don't want to print support. Can't have it both ways. Now having said that, you might try the shell...

Re: Any way to back up existing firmware?

compile or put the new firmware and a different sd card. Put the "original" one up in a safe place. Insert the new card with the new software on it and if you don't like it, just insert the "original" sd card.

Re: not printing my stl properly

I downloaded your latest file and first looked at it in a stl viewer and then confirmed it in Cura.
I first noticed defects and it looks even worse in Cura!

Viewing the stl, it still shows that it is not watertight
