Re: Which config.h file to use?
I am assuming that your talking about these files in Marlin? If so, when compiled the system will use both of them regardless of what changes you may make. Having said that, there are a ton of options in each of these files that can be changed to suit your needs/desires. You might peruse YouTube to ...

Re: cura not slicing
The shell command in fusion 360 removes all material from the inside and leaves a wall of the thickness you desire. i say apply to the back face as it will remove that face to shell out the rest of the body. You can then slice with supports of your choice. If you slice with it as is, you can set you...

Re: cura not slicing
I have avoided answering this one in your other thread because you are asking for an oxymoron! Remove material, but not provide support! If you remove material, it won't be supported and you state you don't want to print support. Can't have it both ways. Now having said that, you might try the shell...

Re: Any way to back up existing firmware?
compile or put the new firmware and a different sd card. Put the "original" one up in a safe place. Insert the new card with the new software on it and if you don't like it, just insert the "original" sd card.

Re: not printing my stl properly
I downloaded your latest file and first looked at it in a stl viewer and then confirmed it in Cura.
I first noticed defects and it looks even worse in Cura!

Viewing the stl, it still shows that it is not watertight

Re: cura not slicing
In fusion, it did it just by using the commands as listed. As stated, never worked with surfaces before so don't know how to answer your question. Sorry.

Re: cura not slicing
Freecad might be able to do it, but my experience with that cad is extremely limited. I find the UI difficult to understand.

Re: cura not slicing
Roberts_Clif, Thanks, it took a bit of trying as I have never worked with surfaces before. But it is still a quick and dirty try to make something printable. When I got into it, yep, it looks like a 3D surface scan. These of course are strictly a surface and in this case, not even a full 360°. But i...

Re: cura not slicing
OK, took the challenge and attempted to make something sliceable (if that's a word:}) 1. Brought your file into fusion as a mesh. 2. Did a mesh repair as a stich and remove function to do a rudimentary fix of the file. 3. Converted the mesh to a solid. 4. Saved the file as a .stl file 5. pulled it i...

Re: cura not slicing
If it is just a surface, I have read that fusion has a "thicken" command that will turn a surface into a solid. I have never messed with surfaces, so can't really advise on how to do it.

Re: Increasing thickness
Assuming you don't have access to a stp or other solid model file. The way I would do it would be to import into cad, convert to a solid model and make the changes wanted. Then export as a new stl file.

Re: Extruder isssue
I have in the past had the same thing happen on my printer and each time (yep multiple times) it would be due to a clog in the nozzle. In my case, I was using a slice engineering bi-metal heat break. Ended up replacing the heat break and (knock on wood) haven't had a problem since. When I pulled the...
