Re: What materials have you used on the FT5?

The extruder choked pretty badly on the TPU after a few minutes each time. Benchy rafts... Retraction off, was melting nice but would quit pushing right after it tested ready to go. Pretty sure I'm seeing heat creep softening an already sketchy filament feed situation. The eSun clear PETG prints wel...

Re: What materials have you used on the FT5?

Yes, the stringing can be an issue and the retraction settings are really influential whether you'll get a good result or not with PETG. I'm going to run some eSun Natural (clear) tonight and see if it reacts the same. Looks like they're recommending higher temps than Hatchbox, which brings the stri...

Re: What materials have you used on the FT5?

I know this thread is a little long in the tooth, but I've been getting decent prints with Hatchbox PETG at 235C and 70C on the bed. Glue stick on blue tape on mirror...Got those layers! Been using my FT-5 for a couple months and we're finally starting to understand each other a bit. Wasn't going to...

Re: Part cooling fan tied to Y?

What I've learned is that trying to put a 20/2 individually insulated part fan wire in the already tight drag chain wasn't helping the friction situation inside the nylon sleeve. I did away with the drag chain and ran the next size up nylon sleeve and 20/7 PVC sleeved, stranded copper to run everyth...

Re: Part cooling fan tied to Y?

Hey folks, thanks for the replies and advice. After lots of continuity testing it ended up being the wire to the cooling fan breaking inside the insulation at the apex of the chain flex. Went ahead and replaced it with some quality silicon wire. Really loving the FT-5 and being part of the community!

Part cooling fan tied to Y?

Hi folks. New member here. Had my FT-5 up and running well for about 2 weeks and have had pretty good luck and nice prints so far. I've run into the most odd thing though. I added a part cooling fan with the appropriate fang syle duct and a BB 24V fan. Eveyrthing was working as intended until yester...
