Re: Octopi not showing webcam stream
Have you tried a sudo apt-get update via terminal? It was the camera itself. For whatever reason it works on PCs but not on the Raspberry. I got another camera and it's all working now (see my post above). I did do an apt-get update/upgrade not long after I got everything running a while ago. Oddly...

Re: Desktop enviroment for Octopi?
I would suggest after you have OctoPrint working to remove the SD card and using USB Image Tool create a backup image. Sounds like a good idea. I'm on Linux so I just downloaded Etcher , an image burner like the USB Image Tool. 1) Is there any way to remotely save the card image without taking it o...

Desktop enviroment for Octopi?
My Octopi kit came with a 5 inch 800*480 touch screen, which seems pretty pointless to me. After booting, the Octopi prints this line: This image comes without a desktop environment installed because it's not required for running OctoPrint. If you want a desktop environment you can install it via su...

Re: Octopi not showing webcam stream
Do you have Putty so you can SSH into the Raspberry Thank you, Roberts_Clif. I'm on linux so I remote in through the gnome terminal. I don't know if you saw my post above, but I did get it working- it turns out the new camera I got just won't work on a raspberry pi. I used another camera and *poof*...

Re: Octopi not showing webcam stream
I thought I saw you post in the Hictop thread that you use Linux for your desktop as well? If so, COOL! Yep, I switched from a well-worn but perfectly functional Win7 install to Linux Mint on Jan 1st of this year. I just couldn't trust the Win7 updates any more- sometimes they'd knock me off the ai...

Re: Octopi not showing webcam stream
Well dang.... I went over allllllllllll the stuff in the configuration page, double-checked everything, rebooted a number of time in the process, edited stuff, reverted stuff, etc etc etc....and no matter what I did I could *not* get the stream to show. Now I know the camera works because it works p...

Octopi not showing webcam stream
As the title states, I'm using Octopi/Octoprint and I've attached a webcam to one of the Raspberry Pi's USB ports. The problem I'm seeing is that the webcam stream doesn't appear in the Octoprint 'Controls' screen. All I see is the text " Webcam stream loading... " fading in and out over a...

Re: [SOLVED] CR10S Marlin Firmware - arvdude vs bossac?
The INO extension file is what is opened. If you use his batch file, "OpenFirmwareWindows" it will open for you. I'm running Linux, so I don't think the Windows batch file would work on my PC. Maybe I'll look into this when I have some of the other issues worked out that I'm puzzling over...

Re: [SOLVED] CR10S Marlin Firmware - arvdude vs bossac?
Thank you... Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do with the source. What do I need to do to compile it to .hex format so I can flash the printer? Not sure that you will find a .hex file. The full package is here and includes the source, the Arduino IDE, STLs for mounting their EZABL leveling kit,...

Re: [SOLVED] CR10S Marlin Firmware - arvdude vs bossac?
Thanks for this- it looks good and I'd like to give it a try. I looked on the site there but couldn't find a .hex file to flash the printer with. Is there one there I just didn't see or do I have to compile it from source? Tim at TH3D has tweaked the various settings for the model printers he suppor...

Re: [SOLVED] CR10S Marlin Firmware - arvdude vs bossac?
Have been told that Marlin 1.1.9 has a few quirks You should have use Marlin 1.1.9 bugfix. I had installed Marlin 1.1.9 bugfix and used if for a while then updated to marlin 2.0.0 for a couple months now. have not experienced any problems. On this page: http://marlinfw.org/meta/download/ I see &quo...

Re: [SOLVED] CR10S Marlin Firmware - arvdude vs bossac?
I updated to Marlin 1.19 and it malfunctioned right from the get-go. Trying to do an auto-home from the printer control box, Marlin will drive the gantry down a little bit, then it stops and throws an error both in Octoprint and on the Creality display. I have to restart the printer to clear the err...
