Re: Dual pro head from Zmorph
Mine was a box of bits 2nd hand for £100. and like you say quality control is something they haven’t contemplated. I’ve been taking my time assembling it, changing fasteners for better quality, improving a few little bits to remove play or make a better belt clamp, most of the assembly and wiring is...

Dual pro head from Zmorph
Sorry I’ve not been on in a while, I’m still busy with my last module for my Open University degree. I’m interest in dual printing, I’ve had access to a Wanhao D4 and a Zmorph VX, and I’m slowly assembling a Geeetech delta. Out of these dual printers I like the solution the Zmorph has with its dual ...

Re: UM2 problems
No I think it’s a board problem, possibly a dry joint connection, but I don’t really have the time or expertise to find it at the moment so will buy anew one and then when I have time see if I can locate the problem on the old board.

Re: UM2 problems
Cheers Shurik, I think it could be possibly be a dry joint, the reason is that from being off over night it will successfully print a UM Robot or two with no problems, then the Y motor might skip a beat, I thought it might be the belt slipping as that’s what it sounds like but I’ve just added some b...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Just wanted to say hi whilst having a coffee and a brake from studies, just 2 weeks before my exam and I feel I’ve forgotten all I learned last September to January. So other than going some material testing and producing so Geocache puzzle caches I’ve really been head down into my studies, and in a...

UM2 problems
Hi guys, I wanted to check the hive mind. My UM2 is playing up, the y axis is stepping off, originally I was thinking it was the stepper motor as I had one previously that began to seize and would mis step, but got some new replacements as my reconditioned one with new bearings was doing the same, b...

Re: Bondtech feeder running backwards
Hi Clif, I’ve used silver solder for brazing metals, I was thinking that it’s melting point would be a bit high for the aluminium, my soldering iron may only just get to the correct temperature to obtain this but the aluminium acts as a big heat sink. I may well take it to a local electronics compan...

Bondtech feeder running backwards
Hi guys. I needed to replace my headed bed this week, after 3.5 years one of the connections developed an intermittent fault, and despite an attempt to resolder it, it lasted a couple of small prints before failing again, so a new one was purchased, it has better connections but a bit steep at £170....

Re: Cura 3.1 released, and no one said anything
Cheers Guys, at the moment I’ve just cut out sugar as much as I can, I dried various sweetness and sugar substitutes in coffee but as my tastebuds are screwed from the flu virus they don’t taste sweet to me, just bloody awful and leave a powdery feel to the mouth like a mouth full of cat hair 🙀. I g...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Hi Guys, slowly managing to get back to the forum after a year I would rather do without, can anybody help recall, somebody was on about smoothing out the stepper motors, I think it was a little pcb that was placed inline, i’m not sure but I have a vague memory it may have been Gudo but have not bee...

Re: Cura 3.1 released, and no one said anything
Sue and I have had a hectic year. And I’ve just been diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes, possibly linked to the bout of flu I had 5 years ago that damaged my hypocampus and I lost my senses of smell and taste. Bit of a bugger as one of the only things I get is sweetness and I’ve got to cut it out.

Re: Smaller nozzles
Sorry guys, been busy as Sue lost her father in May and we have been going upto Warrington a lot and have the coroners court in November as he had a bad stroke to his brain stem. I’ve not been using my small nozzles lately as Sue and I have been running a lot of PolySmooth, we have been testing it f...
