Re: More issues with cura and bad prints!
Im using version 2.5. That print was made with no support enabled. I noticed that it came out flipped 180 from the drawing. So, I must have somehow fliped it in cura. Why would cura not be able to correctly slice if the drawing is flipped?

More issues with cura and bad prints!
Im just having a terrible time getting a good print. I have covered the basics and keep running into one issue after another. Latest issue, cura adding support structure where none is wanted. I have this drawing, has large open areas. I want to print with no support. So, in cura the layer view shows...

Re: switched to .5mm nozzle and now prints are horrible
Hi. I had to stop working on it this morning, kept running into more and more issues. It was compounding! My z limit switch went out of adjustment again, and I was getting non ideal nozzle height in addition to the extrusion issues. So, I had to re adjust the z stop, and I went ahead and re leveled ...

Re: switched to .5mm nozzle and now prints are horrible
Not sure whats happening here. I re drew the part. Left the bottom surface solid with the hole only going through 2.4mm in a 2.5mm thickness. so, there should be .1mm skin on bottom. When loaded onto the build plate its showing complete through holes. Dont know if its happening in cura or in repetie...

Re: switched to .5mm nozzle and now prints are horrible
Thanks for the tips. I will re draw the part today. Im getting some funny patterns and they might be due to having issues creating the surface. I will also seal up the holes on the bottom layer. Now as for print speed: So, Im not going to be able to print faster using the larger nozzle? I noticed so...

Re: switched to .5mm nozzle and now prints are horrible
About 5th attempt. feed set at 115% and temp at 222. I think my cooling fan shroud sucks. Im using the round shroud from thingiverse. Pretty sure not enough fan power to make all those holes have any kind of velocity. Anyway, wht do you folks think is happening now? Over extrusion? not enough coolin...

switched to .5mm nozzle and now prints are horrible
I recently switched from .4mm to .5mm nozzle t get faster prints. Im using armadillo tpu 75d 1.75mm. Im having a terrible time getting the initial layers to stick to the bed. This was not an issue before. Im using blue tape and hair spray. At a temp of 217-222 the initial layers just do not stick at...

Re: Interior structures not printing
I was initially using a very old version of cura and did not know of options for infill. My first prints were all lines or grid infill, and I could vary the density. Now with newer version of cura, the infill options are more open. Yes, I agree that trying to skeletonize the part was a waste of time!...

Re: Fusion360
I have been considering trying fusion 360. For cnc milling, I use bobcad, which is a very simplified and intuitive cad software, at least my older version is. The only problem is that trying to jump from bobcad to fusion is like trying to learn a foreign language. Nothing is the same or even similar...

Re: Interior structures not printing
I designed it using sketchup. WHen saving in sketchup, it gave an option to fix error, so I did. I guess the errors cura found are different? Will run it through the cura again and see the results of fixing errors. Its kind of a moot point though. I have already moved on from that model, but it woul...

Re: Y Axis Problem when printing larger prints
I had a similar problem, but much worse. In my case, I am printing from usb, and made the mistake of fooling around with the screen image while printing. Some how the information to the printer got,, delayed, or corrupted and it went off by about 3mm in y. One big jump! Another possible reason is th...

Re: Interior structures not printing
I came to a similar conclusion. Today, will be trying out a new cad which has the side areas as an 80% infill, to surround the through holes, and the center as a 20% infill with triangle structure. Would be nice if cura would allow this without jumping through hoops, but its fine. In the end, I have...

Re: Interior structures not printing
I think perhaps it needs infill then to support the top skin. But,, why at 0% infill is it just printing solid? Sure a nice honey comb pattern would be great to replace my interior walls,, but thats not what my other parts have had..... Slowly figuring this out, any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Interior structures not printing
2nd pic facing right is the bottom skin. My cross walls clearly visible, and so are the open spaces that should be skinned over. 1st pic facing left is the top side which should show my walls climbing higher, but instead they are getting filled over, except in those open areas where nothing is happe...
