Re: Part cooling fan tied to Y?

I agree with Robert.
My FT5 had a strange problem when it wouldn't print on the front part of the bed, I finally replaced all the wires to the hot-end and everything is fine. It turned out to be a faulty wire, it would work sometimes but not others.
I also keep fans etc spare just in case.

Re: How's everyone doing...2019 version!

Update on the JGAuora A5S. The bed has a slight "hump" in the middle, only about 0.1mm, too small to cause any problems. After a few prints the touch on the touch screen stopped working, so I had to connect it up to the PC to get it to work. I contacted support and they asked me to check the connect...

Re: How's everyone doing...2019 version!

Hi all The JGAurora A5S arrived yesterday, the day that it was supposed to. The printer is very easy to put together and has good instructions. As the printer had been tested there was a tiny bit of plastic still on the nozzle that I never noticed, so after leveling the bed the first print lifted of...

Re: How's everyone doing...2019 version!

I have only been in the 3D printing game about a year and a half. My work involves designing just about anything, from cosmetic brushes to plastic injection mould tools. 3D printing has always played a part, first using companies like Shapeways etc. until someone bought me a Floger FT5 (R1) he must ...

Re: Printer missing parts

The model is 210mm x 290mm x 60mm Bed 60°C to start then down to 40°C after first layer. I started to do this with PLA to get better print quality as the extruder doesn't have a fan for the nozzle, only the motor. Nozzle 200°C No clicking. I increase to amps on the extruder motor a little so be safe...

Re: Printer missing parts

Hi Roberts_Cliff, thanks for the reply.

Yes I have retraction on. I understand what you are saying with the change in height. This problem occurs on opposite sides at the back, on the inside on the right and the outside on the left, does that theory still hold?

Re: Printer missing parts

Update on the problem. I replaced the problem cable and I have been printing small parts that are coming out OK. The printer is a Folger FT5 R1, no upgrades. I tried printing this part again. I use Cura 3.6 Material PLA Layer Height 0.25mm Wall thickness 0.8mm Infill 20% Print speed 70 mm/sec No sup...

Re: Shifted Layers

I don't know what the Extruder is like on your printer but I had the same problem. It turned out to be loose screws in the head, just loose enough to allow movement, but not enough to notice during normal use. I had a problem with the stepper motors slipping but the offset is a lot more than what is...

Hi LePaul are you on commission from these people. ;-)
It sounds too good to be true.

Re: Assembling a CR-10 - Any "gotchas" to be aware of?

I've used it a few times and it didn't smell that bad. I have it in the garage anyway.
Did your friend use ABS on one of these polyprop sheets?

Hi LePaul
These look better than the ones I suggested.
Have you used them with ABS?

Re: Assembling a CR-10 - Any "gotchas" to be aware of?

Hi I used tape and hair spray on the bed. It works OK but get messy. I bought these sheets to stick on the bed instead of tape, for PLA they work great, you don't use anything else. They are OK'ish with ABS, it depends on the size of the print, better with smaller parts. I would recommend sticking t...

I have played around a little with FreeCad and also Onshape, both are free, Onshape is a lot more powerful.
Try the ones suggested and see which you find the easiest to use for you. You can always change to a more "powerful/less easy to use" later.

Re: Cura 3.6.0

My main PC is a HP workstation, Xeon with 8 cores 32 GB ram. Solidworks runs great on this, Cura takes an age to load.
Yes they need to speed it up.
