Re: Best wood-fill filament?

Hi all I have just seem this post so sorry if it's a late reply. I also have wood filled PLA from SUNLU: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B01M1EATN5/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I didn't think I needed to change anything for this filament. I used PLA settings and changed nothing, prin...

Re: Setting up Octoprint on the Raspberry Pi3 (video)

Hi Paul Another great video. I set up one of these a few weeks ago and it has made printing a lot easier. I decided to buy a Raspberry Pi camera with my Pi3 to make the setup easier. To try it out I used a network cable, that way you don't need to change anything. Download the image, burn to an SD c...

Re: Layer splitting with ABS

Found out why part of the print was not very good.
I used Cura with "Use adaptive layers" set with the default settings.
This was used to cut the print time down, but resulted in crappy walls.
I wouldn't be using this setting again.....

Re: Layer splitting with ABS

Well I have done a few parts in PETG, some aren't perfect but better than ABS. This part below is 180mm tall. As you can see at the top it started to print better for some reason. I'll have to play with the settings to get a better part but the first results look good, at 240 nozzle 80 bed 0.25 laye...

Hi Paul
This Mosfet thing, is it easy to install, it doesn't look complicated.
Also which one did you use?

Re: Layer splitting with ABS

Thanks Anders Olsson What you say makes sense. I have bought another make of ABS and it prints a lot better at the same settings 100°C bed 240°C nozzle. I have no problem with the ABS sticking to the bed as I have a plastic type mat that works, sometimes too well as I can have great difficulty getti...

Re: Quiet 3D printer

I am now ready to install the TMC2130's.
I noticed there is extra wiring involved and it seems to take out the LCD screen, is that correct for the FT5?

Re: J-Head not working.

Hi all I had a bit of time so I had another look at this. I got another J head and tried it. I set it up so the head was fixed to the frame so it would be easy to change things. I was only going to extrude filament not do any printing. I used ABS with the hot end set to 230°C, I could push the filam...

Re: Welcome, where are you from?

Costa Blanca, Spain (Born in England).
On a steep learning curve with 3D printing.
Folger FT5, it arrived about a years ago, spent 3 months building it, with 2 months gap in the middle for summer.
Using printer to build prototypes, thing for the house and fun stuff.
Thinking about a second printer.
