Re: What is everyone doing

Once the printer is built, there are no Setup Instructions. This is Crazy, why is it that some of the most important information is always missing or incorrectly documented! Stepper driver voltages? The Max Stepper motor driver current is easily calculated. then Multiply that by 80% will give you a...

As to the CNC, everything I needed to know is in this video. Just need time to build one.

This is exactly what I want to build, however just a small part of what I want to know extends infinitely beyond the video.

Re: V1 Engineering's Piper

Not sure I understand the question here. I would like Octoprint to be able to record a settable frame rate "anytime" simply by pressing the record button. Then Be able to stop simply by pressing the stop button. Lets say I am viewing on octoprint an the 3D Printer was messing up, I would like to re...

Re: V1 Engineering's Piper

A little over 8 hours of printing 3 excellent prints, and 1.5 failed. Mounting screw for the Proximity sensor became loose causing the first layer adhesion to fail causing the bottom to warp. The model still good though with the bottom not being real flat it could cause problems later on will reprin...

Re: V1 Engineering's Piper

First C-Foot 3D Print in ABS looks promising, with ABS shrinkage the ID for the Feet is 23.37 the conduit measurement is 23.5. This means that very little finish work will need to be done in order to assemble the Piper 3D Printer. I setup the Printer nozzle to 228C with a bed temperature of 98C, fir...

V1 Engineering's Piper

I have decided to build the V1 Engineering Piper . Starting with a 36" square Wood base, to make room for a 34.4 inch X 34.4 inch Piper frame allowing for a print area of 4 cubic ft. Presently looking into a 32 bit controller card, below is a card I was looking at. Though would like some ideals on a...

Re: Visual Studio 2019 Launch Event

In addition to the Visual Studio 2017 I have added the PlatformIO, This allows a second option of compiling 3D Printer Firmware, PlatformIO allows for compiling for 32 bit Controllers as well. With many good tutorials available for learning PlatformIO, is a little more complicated to install than th...

Re: Firmware for Hictop 3DP08

Found the Problem! In Chip Lucks Firmware and most other Marlin firmware - pins_RAMPS_14.h the pins are #define E0_STEP_PIN 26 #define E0_DIR_PIN 28 #define E0_ENABLE_PIN 24 #define E1_STEP_PIN 36 #define E1_DIR_PIN 34 #define E1_ENABLE_PIN 30 In Hictop Marlin_3DP08_3DP11_398___E1 - pins.h the pins ...

Re: Firmware for Hictop 3DP08

Now that you have your 3D Printer working you can feel free to post some of your Models in the " Show off your latest Prints " thread.

Remember we still have lots for you to learn here so do not be a stranger. Feel free to ask any question you have about 3D Printing.

Re: Firmware for Hictop 3DP08

OK Returned found the Problem, they changed the extruder from E0 to E1.
You can unplug the Stepper from E0 then Plug it into E1 and it should work.

Strange thing is I looked at the Code it look OK, must have a way to switch extruder's I don't know about yet!!.

By the way what is the Model number on the 3D Printer controller card you have.

Re: Firmware for Hictop 3DP08

The extruder stepper will not move until the temperature is at least 170C or better. This is a firmware cold extrude prevention, there is a G-Code that can be sent to the Printer to allow for Cold extrude. #define PREVENT_DANGEROUS_EXTRUDE #define EXTRUDE_MINTEMP 170 M302 ; report current cold extru...

This step slipped my mind.

You have to select Board> Programmer Arduino Mega 2560 or Mega ADK
