The Twins

Today I had to replace the filament spool holders inside the my 3D Printer heated enclosure, they had warped and dragging on the power supplies. Though the temperature is only at 100F over an extended period of time my PLA filament spool holders have warped. This is the 2rd time so decided to go wit...

Re: Config.h for a 3DP-15

I also used the X-Max End-stop for my Filament run-out sensor (" Could not get the correct pin to function "). #define X_MAX_ENDSTOP_INVERTING false // set to true to invert the logic of the Filament run-out sensor. // #define FILAMENT_RUNOUT_SENSOR Note this has been disabled using "//" in Pins_Ram...

Re: Config.h for a 3DP-15

I do not know what Inductive proximity sensor you have, though all you would have to do is invert the logic of the Z-Axis end-stop. I changed from the original SN04-N to my current TL-W3MC2 and had to change the logic of both the following lines. // Mechanical endstop with COM to ground and NC to Si...

Re: Config.h for a 3DP-15

I posted my 3DP11/3DP12 Marlin 1.1.5 here before, but will post again. I compile using Arduino 1.8.1 and Arduino 1.8.4. I have made changes in configuration.h, configuration_adv.h and Pins_RAMPS.h Changes to Pins_RAMPS.h for Filament run-out sensor remarked out (//). I have a 220mm X 270mm Bed I hav...

Re: Revive a spool of brittle PLA - is it possible?

If the PLA filament was stored dry, and becomes brittle due to crystal changes, warming it up for a day (at 50°C or so) should make it flexible again. If the PLA filament became brittle due to water absorption and chemical breakdown, heating it will not help. I live in a dry Climate and have a heate...

Re: Triangulatica

$10,000 dollars a year far exceeds my budget for all my hobbies to say the least for Fused Layer Modeling/Fused Deposition Modeling Printer.

Can a single 3D Printer working 24 hours a day print fast enough to make a viable profit with this added overhead only printing 8760 hours a year.

However If your power supply is a 12v buy 12V heater if Supply is 24V buy 24V heater

I started with a 3DP11 and 3DP12 though upgrades makes them both considered 3DP17's with Auto level and Filament Monitors

Re: Cura - Rafts

Yea this could be true, though it is tons easier to setup and learn without something else causing print errors.

Then changes can be incorporated into the Newer versions of Cura 3.4.1 or vise versa.

Cura - Rafts

Today I an try to learn about the raft settings using Cura 15.04.6. Raft.jpg Would like to know if anyone has information as to what the best settings would be for a raft. Lets say Best adhesion, easiest part removal and smoothest model bottom layer as examples or am I overthinking this. I believe t...

Re: Updating HIC 3DP-03 to Marlin 1.1.X

Do you have your original firmware source code? I have a 3DP11 and a 3DP12 and started with Chip Luck's firmware presently using Marlin 1.1.5. Thou have configured all Marlin 1.1.X Post a Link or your configuration.h file, we have many Hictop users here and can get you on the correct path. Not sure ...
