Re: A4982SLPT compatable A4988 Driver

I have checked the Y-Axis belt for debris I have checked to Drive belt pulley for debris. I have Cleaned all Lead-Screws and Smooth-rods of debris. I have now Replaced all bearing on the Y axis. I have Replaced the Y-Axis Stepper. I have Replaced the Controller with a backup controller. I have re-ad...

Re: 3D printer for Middle School education, which one?

This is a educational environment I would think you should have two 3D Printers. The first one should be there for 3D Printing the learning of how to design models an slice them for the best results. The second printer should be a Kit that could be disassembled and re-assembled this would teach how ...

Re: A4982SLPT compatable A4988 Driver

Doing some mathematical calculations of using known information. I have came up with an ideal of some of the Specs for the "Date code only Steppers". 1.8º 200 steps ~900ma 5.5ohms coil resistance puts us in the neighborhood of 48~54 mN/m torque. With this information I believe that the steppers are ...

Re: Easy sound deadening

Sounds good.

Might try that on my 3D Printer enclosure, not sure how much quieter they can get though.
Basically all I hear now is a quit hum when I am in the room with the both 3D printers running.

Re: Printer missing parts

Not really.
Can you tell me the size of the model. The temperature you are printing.

Do you hear clicking coming from the extruder. What is the filament flow rate set to

Re: A4982SLPT compatable A4988 Driver

Should clarify My 3D Printer came stock with the A4982SLPT chip installed instead of the A4988. Trying to find the original Stepper motors is not an easy task and those who have want way too much money for replacement steppers. I believe have figured it all out as long as the Driver can handle the S...

Re: Printer missing parts

But why only one place outside and one place inside. This make no sense. Any ideas would be welcome. Lez I believe this location is where the layer height changes and where you do a retraction for layer change. On the model seen here would most likely disable the retraction settings, do not believe...

A4982SLPT compatable A4988 Driver

The A4982SLPT is an improved version of the A4988 stepper motor controller driver chip. The advantage to this chip is a larger package for heat dissipation. Note: This driver does not allow 1/8 micro stepping, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/16 only. Now for my question. I would like to know replacement stepper moto...

Re: Assembling a CR-10 - Any "gotchas" to be aware of?

I have printed PLA both ways, without any differences.
PLA Nozzle temp 200C Bed 50 C or PLA 200C Bed room temperature, On tape.
When I print on my Bed surface it like the bed above room temp at about 50C which seems to have good adhesion.

Re: Marlin 1.1.7

I noticed on Marlin 1.1.7 the After the Z-Height there is a blinking cursor, this may be the problem.
You can see the cursor in the above picture with the Red LCD Controller case.

Finally flashed to Marlin 1.1.9, the display works correctly again finally.

Re: Marlin 1.1.9

Tested with #define S_CURVE_ACCELERATION could not see any difference in 3D Print layer Quality. Still would like the Marlin 1.1.7 after auto home / bed leveling raises Z 10mm Now on Marlin 1.1.9 after auto home / bed leveling drops Z .5mm #define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -0.5 #define Z_CLEARANC...

Re: Marlin 1.1.9

Today I flashed Marlin 1.1.9 in the middle it error-ed and stopped though the Controller was dead though I re-flashed Marlin 1.1.7 After getting Marlin 1.1.7 running again I re-flashed Marlin 1.1.9 via success. Flashed Marlin 1.1.9 firmware compiles 60% will have to see what happened here. I do not ...

I have Recently determined that the Error occurs even when it is shut down correctly.

The only way to reload the OctoPrint Login screen is to Clear the History Cache.

Re: Shifted Layers

It is really crazy because I printed a Circular Model. Front.JPG One on each 3D Printer and both turned out perfect at the normal 86 percent print speed. This was before I killed the Controller. Controller.jpg When the Parts come in will remove the driver and re-solder the new A4982SLPT Driver chip....

Re: Shifted Layers

Adjusted the V-Ref current from .420 - .480 even this was working the same maybe a little more Shift. IMG_2141.JPG Thinking the V-Ref maybe a little too high Adjusted down to .350 stepper would not move at all. Tried adjusting back to .420 would not adjust A4982SLPT Driver chip V=Ref Pot, the is Chi...
