Re: creality CR 10 different types/software?

I should also note that very shortly after I bought it, a Hictop rep posted on facebook offering a gift for people that were buying one. The gift was a replacement print head assembly, along with plugs and wire crimps so that you can easily swap out the print head hot end, sensor and fans without ha...

Re: creality CR 10 different types/software?

Not sure, but from what I have heard on the facebook and thingiverse forums about issues people have, I haven't seen any. Other than the wire harness support for the bed heater and wheels for the bed leveling screws, mine is unchanged from factory. I did replace the glass with a mirror, but almost e...

Re: creality CR 10 different types/software?

Sounds like you have either a newer or custom built firmware. Where did you get your printer from? There are a lot of companies reselling the CR-10 series, some of them modify the firmware (I have the Hictop version). As to moving the Z axis to clean the heads, you should be able to do that in the P...

Re: HicTop 3DP12 Newb aid needed!

The CR10 will work with pretty much anything that can generate GCode for Marlin based printers. Not an Autocad or Inventor user, but if they can slice, you can print. Otherwise you will need to output your models as STL files and run then through a slicer (like Cura). BTW, there is a forum on this b...

Re: x belt damaged by metal guider

You can recenter it by loosening the bracket and adjusting one side vs the other. What it is showing is that your brackets are not 100% square to the channel. Pulling one bracket out just 0.5-1mm will make a massive difference.

And with little to no fanfare, Cura 3.3 was also released. Downloading it now.

Update: And...it crashed on start. Something with converting configs. Will debug later.

Nice, but there is no link on the youtube video post for the enclosure. Also, the enclosure hasn't been listed yet.

Re: Quiet 3D printer

Wow, glad I don't have that printer. I have both CR-10S and Hictop 3DP-17 setup in the dining room (too small to use as a dining room and it is between the kitchen and livingroom). When they are both going, they make a little more noise than our dishwasher or furnace. Depending on how you made your ...

Re: First layer too high

Is the Z limit switch always engaged (i.e. when Z=10mm)? It's possible that your limit switch or the circuit on the motherboard is faulty. You can test it with a cheap volt/ohm meter ($9 from Harbor Freight). Just set the meter for continuity and test the leads on the switch with it engaged and not ...

Re: print only shell, not walls

I checked your model on my system (same Cura), and the only way to get it to do what you are saying is if I have Spiralize Outer Contour enabled under Special Modes. Check that setting.

Sorry, I was 250 miles away helping my mother clean out her shop since last Friday. It was a major undertaking. When my back is better, I'll get more active.

Re: Octoprint Anywhere Plugin

Well, I added a suggestion and he ran with it. New update released this morning. I've loaded it on my printers, and since they will be idle for the next few days, this will be a decent test to see if there is improvement.
