Re: Thingiverse is still soooo slow

Not sure where Thingiverse is but I have no problems. @GrueMaster do you have any problem with Thingiverse It really depends on the time of day and the traffic to the site. I usually check it every morning while waiting for coffee (same time I check the board here). Some days it is fairly instantan...

Re: Shifted Layers

"Better" in this case means the design has improved enough to make a mold for mass production, thus saving costs. Better for the revenue stream.

Arduino 1.9 is in Beta. You can download it from the Beta links. 1.8.8 is the latest stable release.

While I admire your efforts, it would be easier to just get a replacement board.

Re: Print issues: stringing

Sounds like you need to level the bed better. Could also be that the glass is warped (common issue). As I'm sure you've read/heard, to level, you have to first home the printer, then (recommended) move the print head to within 10mm of each corner, drop the print head (Z-axis) to zero, and raise the ...

Re: Power Supply Power Fused Cable

The only fuse my 3DP-17 had was one I added when the stock power switch (rated for AC only) burned out. I think I have a 15amp now. Will have to take the covers off to check.

Infill Density looks like 100%, not 0%. Try hitting the arrow (next to the box) to reset to default value.

Re: Printer missing parts

What is your layer height set to? Looks pretty high. Try 0.2 or 0.15.

You may also need to do this test on a variety of different filaments. Most basic filaments from the same brand (different colors from Hatchbox for example) will use the same or close to the same settings, but other filaments (like Hatchbox wood filament) will need very different settings. I recentl...

You are heading into uncharted territory here. Not sure who all here is even at this level of system mods.

I found this article on how to choose. Not sure it is helpful for you. You could also search on Digikey and see if you can find one that matches the specs you are looking for.

Re: Shifted Layers

First thing I would look at is loose bed or loose belt on the Y axis. I once had a print going on my 3DP-17 that started looking like that 5 layers into the print. Discovered all of the wing nuts for the bed on the table below the printer.

Re: Assembling a CR-10 - Any "gotchas" to be aware of?

I've used Blender to modify existing STL files, and OpenSCAD to design a few (look for me on Thingiverse). I tend to stick to the open (i.e. free) tools. I don't spend a lot of time on this part of the hobby, and can't justify expensive software when free works just as well.

Re: Printing miniature City - Is this feasible

I'm sure it can handle it, just haven't heard of someone doing what you describe. Nozzle wise, I think it can handle the larger nozzles as they are all the same thread. I have a variety pack with the largest being 1mm (stock is .4mm), but haven't tried any of them yet. The CR10 series printers aren'...

Re: Creality 10s pro

If I remember correctly, the printer just shows up as a serial port. Check to see that you have a new serial port when you plug in the printer. Then tell your program to use that port. Alternatively, get a Raspberry Pi (they're very cheap) and install Octopi on it. Safer anyway as with Windows, it c...
