Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

Seems a shame.

All that empty basement space I mean. You should fill it with printers. :P

Seriously, you can make a nice recording studio there for your video tutorials, etc.

Just don't whip out the Betamax, 8-track, or Laser Discs, old man. :P

(born in 68, so I can say that with a smile).

Re: Spontaneous axis reversal

Yes, it does (if you enable it). Miss that interface, but at least setting up and using Octoprint gives me back some direct control again.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

My FT job has been going through a lot of reorgs and turmoil (for me). I was offered a position with a former manager 2 weeks ago, which I accepted just to get out of my current rut. I officially cut over today. However, Tuesday, I found out that she is moving on, and her team (me included) are bein...

Re: Underside overhanging area with supports

Well, the customer was apparently satisfied. I received a 5 star rating, and will get $9 paid to my paypal account.

Not sure I'm ready to quit my $94k/year job, but it is a start. :-P

Re: Cura 3.2 is now out

Try it on the CR-10 (unless you have a form2 - I forgot what all you have). I haven't tried this particular print yet. Maybe this weekend. I have done some other prints with fine detail though.

Re: Cura 3.2 is now out

Try the new tree feature. Note that it conflicts with supports (either/or/none, not both settings). I actually like it, as they are easier to remove from the object.

Note that I have only printed once with the new beta release. Just downloaded the final 3.2.

Re: Object wall deormations

Which version of Cura are you using? What are the settings for wall thickness? Is there a link for the STL file?

Re: Underside overhanging area with supports

Looking at layer view, it looks like Cura is having issues with the underside.

I'll keep messing with it.

Underside overhanging area with supports

This print was very tough on my CR-10S. I can't share the STL here because I don't know the origin (commissioned off of Print a Thing ). Both were printed with 0.1mm layer height. First one (right) at profile speed (60mm/s) using Cura 3.0.4 and supports, which were a beast to remove. The second (lef...

Re: 3.2 Beta is out!

So, the print I ran yesterday from 3.0.4 with lots of support worked ok (supports came off, but I had a lot of lines to file away), so I reprinted with 3.2 using only tree supports. Much better. The supports peeled off with little effort. I'm still having issues with the bottom layers of this partic...

Re: Check out this SLA printer that uses Cura!

I'm debating getting an SLA to muck with (yea, it's bonus time again). My 3DP-17 is good for miniatures, but not larger prints due to bed level/adhesion issues (even with a new bed, autolevel, and very fine tuning). THe CR-10S is great for larger prints, but I am having issues with detail, especiall...

Re: 3.2 Beta is out!

Ok, got the plugin working now, but I won't be able to try anything today. Long print running, and I have to go to the data center to setup a few new servers. Never a dull moment in my life lately.

Re: 3.2 Beta is out!

3.2 Beta is currently a big failure for me. First, I figured out how to get settings from earlier versions properly ported for Linux. Launch 3.2, then close it. Go into ~/.local/share/cura/3.2/3.0 (3.0 was the last version to properly port custom PLA and printer settings), delete any older version d...

Just saw the info on the lerdge.com site. Yea, skip this one. Even the reprap.org forums are keeping their distance.
