Re: Successful 1st ABS Print

After printing the PLA at such high temperatures the room stunk of the fumes even with the vent fans running. You mean ABS, right? So I took my Ionic Breeze turned it on full, withing a few minutes the fumes were gone. It sounded like a smoke eater as it cleaned the pollution out of the room. This ...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

I anticipate whatever new software I put us into has a monthly cost. I like IP Board since a few other forums use it. phpBB seems to be a few steps behind on what others offer. While I like phpBB, I find others more appeasing to the eyes...and their social media integration. I personally do not rec...

Re: Successful 1st ABS Print

I found that a big stick of Elmers glue works best. I use it on both of my printers.

Let the gals put that in their hair.

Re: solve the creality 2.1 board issue..pls help

Sounds like the board may not have been flashed with the right firmware. First, double check that your screen is wired properly (cables swapped?). Next, try to reflash it. You can find several tutorials online, like this one. If that still doesn't work, return to sender as defective.

I reported the problem to Cura and it appears there are a few people with the same problem, supports where they shouldn't be. One person had them on the top of there print!!
That's a feature!

Re: creality CR 10 different types/software?

I was going to buy the Duale 3 with my last stock quick sale, but instead opted to upgrade my camera gear (Go Pro Hero 6, Canon T7i, lenses, etc). Now I am no longer working for that company, having moved to a startup last month (less stress). I'll have to save my money to buy the next printer, mayb...

Re: My Top 4...at this point...!

I've printed mostly smaller models on my CR-10S (and my 3DP-17), but I have printed larger models as well. On my 3DP-17, I printed a flower vase that I had to cancel the last 10mm (my cura height settings didn't account for the filament sensor- print head actually ran into it forcing me to hit the e...

Re: Cura 3.5 ??

My biggest frustration is that I lose half my settings with each upgrade. Being Linux based, the way they set it up is to put settings in multiple top level directories, then create subdirectories for each version. The problem is their conversion script fires on startup (no way to disable it), which...

@LePaul I hadn't looked at the spec on the ApolloX site (and you didn't specify). Thought you were having a senior moment. :P

(No offense, I get them too).

Re: Bubbles under Build Surface

Sounds like heat expansion created the bubbles. I've never printed with ABS before, but you are running at boiling temp, so any air/moisture trapped under the tape will expand greatly.

Re: Please help me to fix this print.

The nozzle size looks unusual? I've never used a nozzle that small...I checked...they exist for super high detail, so that could be part of the problem? Actually, 0.4mm is the normal size for most printers (including all of yours, LePaul ). Looking at the images, it appears you are using a fairly r...

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day

My CR-10S has been offline for almost a month (clogged and no time to work on it), haven't used my 3DP-17 in several months. On a non-printing note, My wife found Ikea (new entertainment center wall cabinets, new wardrobe for the livingroom, new gaming table, etc). Also, I quit my job at Intel and l...

Re: Polymaker Polywood filament

Have you tried different temps for different layers? Hotter tends to darken (scorch) the filament, lower temp is lighter color. Worked for me on my Hatchbox Wood PLA (although I had to sand and polycoat for it to show).

I've been to https://goo.gl/maps/oPsSXLmVd712 back in 2011. Was great. Plan on being in a meat coma for a few days.
