Re: Makerbot reveals their new MakerBot Method

Watch the documentary on Netflix. Explains a lot about Makerbot.

Best thing to come from them is Thingiverse.

For real nostalgia, try modding an Atari 2600 to work on a 44" LCD 1080p monitor. Really makes the pixels come alive.

It is in branch 1.1.x, tag 1.1.9. Clone the git repo, then run 'git checkout 1.1.9' to get to that revision state.

Too cute. I wonder if it will work with the Echo Dot as well?

Re: Part Time Manual Bed Leveling

I'm sure it could be done in the firmware, but not easily. You would need to create a menu option along with gcode definition to enable/disable autoleveling. Shouldn't be too difficult for a developer. Unfortunately, I have no spare time to look into it (would be nice for my Hictop 3DP-17 - aka litt...

Re: Folgertech FT-i3 Mega Build

This is a different FT? Or the same one that has taken you a few years to assemble? Why the long assembly time? Do you have to forge your own components from raw materials excavated in your back yard? Just curious, as my Hictop 3DP-17 took me 4 days (working evenings only) to assemble, and all the s...

Re: Odd first layers never seen before.

Likely a sticking issue. I have this from time to time on my larger prints (CR-10S). I usually end up using a glue stick and covering the area that the print will be. Solves that issue 99.9% of the time.

Yes! His posts are the reason I bought my 3DP-17 (my first printer) and was able to successfully upgrade the firmware without any issues.

Re: HELP NEEDED: Leaking from the enclosure of the hot end!

I have had this happen after swapping nozzles. First step is to thoroughly clean the assembly. Heat it up and remove as much PLA as you can. Let it cool, then disassemble the system (carefully, the thermistor is very delicate). Do what it takes to completely clean off the residue, especially inside ...

I agree. This has not only become a good forum for general chatting about what we did recently, but also an excellent reference guide for how-to's on almost all subjects 3D printing related. Much better than the vast groups on Facebook (where I see the same questions asked weekly). Personally, I'm g...

Re: Successful 1st ABS Print

After printing the PLA at such high temperatures the room stunk of the fumes even with the vent fans running. You mean ABS, right? So I took my Ionic Breeze turned it on full, withing a few minutes the fumes were gone. It sounded like a smoke eater as it cleaned the pollution out of the room. This ...

I anticipate whatever new software I put us into has a monthly cost. I like IP Board since a few other forums use it. phpBB seems to be a few steps behind on what others offer. While I like phpBB, I find others more appeasing to the eyes...and their social media integration. I personally do not rec...

I found that a big stick of Elmers glue works best. I use it on both of my printers.

Let the gals put that in their hair.

Re: solve the creality 2.1 board issue..pls help

Sounds like the board may not have been flashed with the right firmware. First, double check that your screen is wired properly (cables swapped?). Next, try to reflash it. You can find several tutorials online, like this one. If that still doesn't work, return to sender as defective.
