Re: Creality CR-10 S4 or Ender-5 Plus, Which To Get?

Those are fairly different printers, with regard to print dimensions. That would be one of the first things I would look at. If you want to make larger prints, go with the CR-10 S4 (I have the CR-10S which is slightly smaller, but still larger than the Ender-5 plus). Both have similar ratings, both ...

Re: How to reset HOME where it was before cleaning HotEnd ?

It sounds like a misconfigured setting in your marlin configuration.h file. If you can get the source for both firmware versions, I would do a comparison and go from there. It isn't terribly difficult to work with (actually, the Marlin team did a remarkable job at documenting the settings).

Re: Moisture Eliminators

Erm, call me crazy, but if you have 3 year old filament, you aren't printing enough useless stuff. Get busy!

My friend turned me on to these. He keeps them in some of his cars that are in storage. They work great.

Re: Printing Dishwasher Belt Pegs

I have a few parts for my popup camper that I printed in PLA (haven't really tried any other materials yet). My tent peg is still functional after 2 seasons. The other thing was a ring adapter to mount my land line conversion kit (it was missing the ring - clearance table). I painted it to help seal...

Re: reprap prusa i3 need help

It sounds like you may have a thermistor going bad. I have two printers, and the only time I had issues similar to that was when the thermistor was broken (still worked but as soon as I tried to adjust it, it shattered and came apart).

Re: SOFTWARE QUESTION from a newbie WANTING to learm!

Cura is very powerful and can be a bit overwhelming when you look at the settings menu, but the default setup is very easy to work with. Plus it supports most printer without any adjustments. And it is free.

Re: Glob of filament around nozzle

We've all been there before. 20170917_073151.jpg The easiest way to remove it is to use a heat gun (like an industrial strength hair dryer). Don't set the heat too high though as you could melt the insulation around the wires. If you don't have one, turn on the extruder heat to PLA level (~210C) and...

Re: Need help with Extruder heating then cooling.

Check your startup code. You may have something in there that is turning off the extruder heat. You can also view/edit the gcode file that is doing this to see if you have any stray gcodes (it is just a text file, but DON'T use notepad).

Re: what printer should i get

To add to Roberts_Clif , I have the Hictop 3DP-17 and the Hictop CR-10S. Both handle printing miniatures just fine. Here are some of my prints (along with some of my glitches). Nozzle clogs happen from time to time. Most of mine happen when the bed adhesion fails and the print head keeps pushing mat...

Re: Tronxy X5S-400 and another problem

Not owning one of these or having seen one in action, it is hard to form any hard conclusions, but gravity may in fact be part of the issue. Is it only one side or is the whole bed level but closer? This might suggest that the print head is moving slightly, or that the Z sensor is slightly loose (or...
