Re: V1 Engineering's Piper

As to the CNC, everything I needed to know is in this video. Just need time to build one.

Re: What is everyone doing

I've been too busy this month to print. I sit and read the forum after my morning shower before heading to work, that's about it.

@LePaul, with as many printers as you have worked with over the years, this should only take an hour or two. You're getting slower in your old age. :-P

Re: V1 Engineering's Piper

Would like some Help, I have a question I have Octoprint with Octolapse and Timelapse. I would like to know if I could install a plugin that could be preset to record configurable frames with a record start/stop button. This could record anytime while printing or not printing for the preset configu...

Re: Octopi not showing webcam stream

Actually, if you do an apt-get dist-upgrade, you are already getting the essential core Linux packages. And Octoprint uses the web interface for updates, so the only thing missing is likely a metadata file saying what Octoprint image you are on. As to the camera not working, as I said I had to upgra...

Re: Octopi not showing webcam stream

Before you get too upset with the webcam, I'd check the model with the mjpg-streamer project upstream. They may have added support after the release you have on your pi. That was the problem I had.

Re: CR 10S Extruder Help!

I moved this to the CR-10 forum. It looks like the temp sensor is out of control. Not sure where you got this firmware, but if it is from https://github.com/makerbase-mks/MKS-Robin I personally wouldn't trust it. Looks like it is run by one of the Chinese companies that make modifications to Marlin ...

Re: Hictop Upgrades

A while ago. I show the download date on my system as March 2017 (which sounds about right - I had just bought my 3DP-17 and was asking them almost weekly for it).

Re: OctoLapse Plugin for OctoPrint

They probably changed the memory map location with the firmware update. Happens, even on a PC, which is why it is recommended to restore factory defaults and then change your settings when you update the BIOS in your PC (although some newer systems will store your settings before blasting away, then...

Re: Octopi not showing webcam stream

I thought I saw you post in the Hictop thread that you use Linux for your desktop as well? If so, COOL! Ok, having said that, I can help a bit (but it may need to wait until this weekend when I have free time - currently in the middle of an office move). IIRC, I had to do some tweaks to the underlyi...

Re: [SOLVED] CR10S Marlin Firmware - arvdude vs bossac?

Not sure that you will find a .hex file. The full package is here and includes the source, the Arduino IDE, STLs for mounting their EZABL leveling kit, instructions, etc. If you just want the firmware, it is here . Again, not a .hex file. Note that I have not downloaded either, so I don't know the f...

Re: Cocoon Create Profile for Cura V4

This is the start gcode in Cura 4.0 for your printer (not much different than mine really): ; -- START GCODE -- G21 ;set units to millimetres G90 ;set to absolute positioning M106 S0 ;set fan speed to zero (turned off) G28 ;home all axis G92 E0 ;zero the extruded length G1 Z1 F1000 ;move up slightly...

Re: Cocoon Create Profile for Cura V4

If you are using Cura 4.0, there is a printer profile specifically for your printer under 'other'. It includes start and finish gcode, which includes autohome (G28). Double check in machine settings that you have start and stop gcode set. Also, which model of Cocoon printer do you have? There are se...

As you can see, I am on the second layer and probably out of the "It's not gonna stick" red zone.
Shhh, don't jinx it. I've had prints come up 40 layers into the print, and that's with PLA (the easy stuff).

Re: Changing Filament - Very difficult.

While I don't have a FT printer, the principles are the same. I always extrude about 10mm before pulling the existing filament out. Whether it is my 3DP-17 (direct feed) or my CR-10S (bowden).
