Re: Marlin 1.1.6

I just pasted my 1.1.3 Configuration.h and Pins_Ramps.h into 1.1.6 with no printing issues. There is a different behavior on my dual extrusion hictop with BLTouch. The BLTouch starts flashing after several layers. No issues with printing, just starts flashing like it needs to be reset. No idea what ...

Re: My Hictop Bed leveling setup

You really should use M851 in Marlin, instead of M206. That is specific for the Z-probe. You are globally setting a Z-offset for that axis with M206 which doesn't make much sense.

Re: So many issues...

Post your Configuration.h (in a code block so it will be readable).

My first guess is that you haven't actually defined a probe in there.

Re: HIC i3 - current firmware development information

I have Marlin 1.1.3 and 1.1.5 on a variety of Hictop printers. Some are MPX.3 and some V1.3. I have not seen this issue at all. I did get G28 Z forbidden before, but that was due to having Safe Homing turned on when I was trying to home Z at another location.

Second if the throat the PTFE tubing becomes deformed, Clogging can occur.
This is the main thing that has given me issues.

Re: Controller Card Information

These boards are basically just Arduino Mega 2560s with many of the features of a RAMPS 1.3 board integrated into it (stepper motor drivers, limit switch circuitry, etc.). The Aux port is likely just an assigned Arduino pin, and depending on which pin it is you can use it as a simple logic control t...

Re: Dual Extrusion with (mostly) stock parts

I finally decided to print a second Bowden extruder and put the dual extruder on. A few observations: As suspected, leveling the nozzles was a bit of a pain. This is because when you tighten the set screw to hold the heat break in, it has a tendency to work between the threads which will slightly ra...

Re: Dual Extrusion with (mostly) stock parts

This is so they can be mounted using the stock aluminum block. You might be able to get them a little closer by drilling the through holes in the carriage at different location, but you run into mounting issues and the possibility that the heatsink and fan may not sit flush against the block. It mat...

Dual Extrusion with (mostly) stock parts

I had a bunch of left over parts from my recent build of 3DP-11s thanks to upgrading the hotends on two of them to E3D V6s. I was about to throw all the parts in a box, but started messing around with them, and realized that it would be fairly straightforward to setup a dual-extrusion head using nea...

Re: new 3DP-11s, perf board?

I'm not exactly how your post applies? It isn't an EFI issue. It is that I now have two SD cards. I want (need) to use the SD card, so commenting out the firmware section doesn't make sense to me. It is an issue with the MPK V1 controller having an on-board SD slot which prevents the MLCD slot from ...

Re: new 3DP-11s, perf board?

SD issue identified. The printers that weren't working have the MPK V1 controllers. It has an on-board SD card slot (at a very inconvenient location). Anyone know of a way of either using multiple SD card readers or disabling the onboard?

Re: new 3DP-11s, perf board?

I have a large complaint now with the SD card slot. 2 out of the 3 printers I have set up have no SD card support. I have upgraded firmware on them all, and considering that 1 of them works fine, it means it isn't a firmware-specific issue. As mentioned above, I swapped out all of the displays with ...

Re: new 3DP-11s, perf board?

I've completed building 2 of the 4 printers. I'll update this thread with my gripes as well. So far: 1. It is far too hard to get the rods into the X-axis brackets. I tried using a large bar clamp, but even that didn't work (this was how I did it on my previous Hictop). The bearings are already moun...

Re: new 3DP-11s, perf board?

Apparently printing on perfboard is a thing. Who knew? I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

Here are a couple of pictures. Perfboard, and the injection molded Y-axis bracket. The X-axis bracket and the extruder parts are now also injection molded.
